  1. Part of the reason the AFL is considered a hitter's league is because not too many great pitching prospects get sent there to protect their arms. The same is the case for the HWB so I imagine it's more of a hitter's league. Thus far this year, the HWB has a 4.85 league-wide ERA, the AFL has a 4.55 league-wide ERA. It's tougher to gauge the foreign winter leagues because veteran players come and go but good pitchers are protected there too. I see, thanks. I'm just starting to follow the minor leagues and stuff, so was wondering what perspective I should put on the numbers you are posting. Well, the HWB is generally considered around the level of high-A baseball, so none of the numbers thus far are good news at all. That much I knew. ;)

  3. I'm not sure which one to post this in, so I just picked this one. Arizona is considered a hitter's league, correct? How about Hawaii and Venezuela?
  4. I love how they make such a big deal about Lou changing the lineup for tonight's game. Do they not realize that our lineup changed almost daily during the season except the 1,3, and 4 spots when everyone was healthy. Where's Wrigley23, now? :D Go Cubs!!!
  5. I love how pissed he got when that guy boxed him out, when he was trying to cut in front of him so he could catch the ball.
  6. Agreed. I'd be up for doing it again, but I'll be out of town this weekend. Same here...the company was good...the game, not so much. I'm watching from my in-laws basement tonight...hoping the location change will change the result....maybe we could do it again for game 4 or 5? i would be up for it next week. game 5 would be tuesday, correct? i almost made it last night. when they are losing, i get really irritatable and need to distract myself - change the channel, get on computer, etc so maybe its good i didnt go. They had surfing and soccer on, so you would have been fine. Yea, I plan on watching from home tonight too. The heart can only take so much.

  9. yea, I'll be there. I'll probably get there around 5:15 or so. I'll be the bald (shaved) dude with the start of a playoff beard wearing just a plain Cubs shirt. I feel like I'm going on a blind date or something...
  10. Did I mention Bar Louie in the CWE yet? They have good beer specials. too bad the game isn't Tuesday; $1 burgers. I'm being more selfish than anything -- it's close to my office. Where is Bar Louie in the CWE? Is that the old MPO's? Does it have good sized TVs? I haven't been there since I was in school Pujols 5 is out in Westport right? I'd probably rather stick closer to downtown as I've got to work until fairly close to game time...but I could likely make the CWE... What would you guys prefer? Wherever is fine with me. I've never been to Bar Louie in the CWE, but from the pictures on the website it looks like it has plenty of TV's. Yes, it is the old MPO's.

  12. What's the plan, MooreCG? I don't really care were it's at, but I just found out this weekend that Pujols 5 has Hoegaarden on tap, so it's got that going for it.
  13. yep, that was unreal What was said. Kruk basically says Demp is starting game 1 because we don't know which version of Z is going to show up. The Cubs made a huge mistake allowing him to finish a no hitter coming right off the injury, and Z has been terrible ever since the no hitter. I guess the fact that Z went to Venezuala for a funeral, took a late flight home and then had a start that same day had nothing to do with the bad outing following the no hitter. Lilly is not scheduled in the first 3 games, because if Z is bad in game #2, Lou is going to use him as a mop up guy to bail out Z.  Don't forget the Dodgers have the best pitching staff in the majors, and since we have right handed dominated line up they'll be able to shut us down no problem.
  14. Watching Baseball Tonight during halftime of the Bears game; it'd make you think the Cubs don't stand a chance against the Dodgers.
  15. :-k =; that's what Al Micheals called it.
  16. Fight On, Chicago Bears!!!
  17. not a great throw, but Forte shuffled stepped otherwise he probably would have caught it.
  18. really good block by Clark to open it up a little.
  19. I think it was a catch, but I can't believe they didn't challenge that. Go Bears!
  20. I plan on going, but I also plan on taking of work to watch games 1 and 2 if there are in fact day games. I haven't cleared this with my boss though, so if I can't go I'll sell them to my family or someone for what I paid.
  21. when I looked at game 1 earlier there were only obstructed view seats left.
  22. I'm in Section 305 Row 5 \:D/
