You can try in get the first pitch tickets Saturday morning. They start selling the tickets at 9 AM the day of the game. It costs $11 for a voucher for 2 tickets. You have no idea where your tickets will be until you enter the stadium. You'll probably want to get in line a couple of hours early, and you'll probably end up with SRO. At least you'll be in the stadium though. I'll be at the game Friday for sure, and might stop by Saturday and Sunday after the start of the games and see if I can scalp some cheap tickets. I think I'm going to try the first pitch thing this Saturday. Have you had much success with it? I've only done it once. We went to a thursday day game against the Royals last year. We got to the stadium at 9, there was a long line but plenty of left over tickets. From talking to the security guards and other people in the line, they said it was the longest the line has ever been, besides for a Cubs game. They said for Cubs games people usually start showing up around 6 AM. Also from talking to the other people it doesn't matter what voucher number you get or if you are in the front of the line to enter the stadium, the tickets you get are completely random. They've been in the front of the line and gotten SRO, but a person behind them got seats. The main reason to get in line before the game early is to make sure you are in the stadium before first pitch, since they don't open the gate until 10 min. before gametime. Generally the tickets you get are SRO, the tickets the visiting team gave back, or tickets a big group gave back up in the nose bleeds, but I have heard of people getting seats behind home too (could just be a rumor). I would almost guarantee you get SRO for Cubs game. When we went to the Royals game we got SRO and so did everybody else we saw waiting in line, but we were able to find empty seats down low. One nice thing they did was walk through the line with that days giveaway for those that wanted it.
