  1. I think Toonster has it pretty spot on right now. Throw away the season?? Obviously not, but realistically not a ton can really be done to make this a playoff caliber team in one season. Let's just hope for sound decisions that help build this team to truly compete in 2013 and beyond.
  2. 1% chance Quade is back. It just wouldn't make sense.
  3. I went Fielder 2) CC 3) Pujols 4) Wilson
  4. Sure. But what if the Cubs hired someone like Cherington or Hahn instead, but still made a major investment in the draft and IFAs like this year. How many marginal McNutts is Epstein worth over the next, freely available option? Apparently 1 McNutt? 30/30 GM/Owners trade Trey McNutt for Theo Epstein. Ricketts is trying to change the future of the franchise for 30+ years, not get 10-12 wins out of a potential #2 starter who has yet to do anything at the AA level. Edit: I'll give McNutt a tad more credit
  5. Pretty happy (7), but hardly through the roof.
  6. no way to know that - Beltre could have hit a HR the next pitch Right, he COULD have. But he PROBABLY wouldn't have.
  7. I obviously don't want to trade McNutt, but if it gets this thing done then it's really not that awful.
  8. They are saying McNutt very well could be the guy going.
  9. Source? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-epstein-signing-will-be-made-official-on-friday-20111020,0,5835313.story
  10. I get it -- we're all looking for reasons for the Cards to lose. The Beltre call obviously sucked, but probably didn't change the outcome of the game.
  11. Yes it did. But it also passed the bag in fair territory, therefore making it a fair ball. Think about it like a bunt. If a ball is bunted in foul territory the defensive team typically wants to touch the ball in foul territory before it rolls back fair.
  12. Chris Carpenter & Welington Castillo (& maybe one lower level higher upside guy) Edit: Looks like it may be McNutt after all
  13. Regarding their last trip, Raheem Morris has had trouble reigning in guys on road trips in the past.
  14. My Dad will be at this game, he's nuts. Bears win this one as the defenses will be sluggish. I will take the more veteran team in an odd travel week. Bears 31 Bucs 20 Interesting fact of the week: The Bears are 0-8 in the last 8 games they've scored under 30 points. So this week, they continue the trend with a W and scoring over 30.
  15. Buy some vinyl. Download tons from mediafire. Go to a lot of shows.
  16. Bears aren't gonna lose at home to the Vikings. I think they hold AP pretty much in check. 23-17 Bears -- though Jared Allen does have like 8 sacks or something already. Lovie Smith is 5-2 coming off MNF games and 4-0 at home.
  17. Hugh Hefner I believe
  18. This pic is pretty good
  19. Have to agree that Nolasco is a significant upgrade to Randy Wells.
  20. Yeah, but look at the players with multiple 200 hit seasons on that list. I know this is obviously his first, but you'd have to think he'll be in line for 1-?? more.
  21. Any ideas on pitchers today Raisin?
  22. Are these teams affiliated with the Cubs? Late inning, big game comebacks to win
  23. I'm not mad, he's just a dope.
  24. It's really unbelievable the attitude this dude has. Your stupid, self-appointed character was played out about a month ago, nobody outside Milwaukee cares about your team and Albert would certifiably kick your scrawny ass. Please shut up and stop showing up on my TV. Edit: It's a rant, but baseball season sucks right now.
