  1. Big Ten still crapped the bed, just a terrible overall performance considering the supposed "strength" of the conference and highly seeded teams. I didn't think it was a stretch to expect a least two Big Ten teams in the Sweet 16. Man, I'm stilled pissed about the Illini' lose to Loyola, I'm convinced Curbelo was the answer, had they turned over the offense to him and gotten in that Krutwig' face they may have won. If I could see that, why the horsefeathers couldn't Underwood see it? Yeah, I would have much preferred Michigan just lost.
  2. I could listen to that guy talk all day
  3. Insightful horsefeathers. Carry on. Why even bother with SS?
  4. I don't think I'd feel good about that hire as a Jets fan. Great defensive coach, but we've seen this before. Does he have any in game coaching skills? He's a motivator but how long does that last? Especially in NYC. His OC is going to be very important for his success. And not horsefeathering up the draft. He just feels like one of those guys that's way better as a DC, kind of like a Fangio. So many DC's turn out to be awful HC's. I think OC's are generally brighter when it comes to in-game decision making and I'd wager they've had more success overall. That rah-rah horsefeathers works on defense but doesn't translate to high IQ game management.
  5. 53-13 second half makes up for the sleepwalking through the first half, but this is just unreal the difference. I was pretty down on them after their less than stellar efforts against Missouri and rightly so. What we saw tonight is a glimpse of what this team is capable of, it's there, they just have to want it enough. Guess 'Wood did not immediately enter the locker room at halftime, apparently, they were pissed and getting on each other about lack of effort. This pattern of 'Wood having to play mind games to get effort out of these guys doesn't sit very well, sometimes it doesn't work. Don’t
  6. I really debated taking the credit but ended up not doing so. Had to put the deposit down recently and decided to give them up after 17 years. It wasn't an easy decision but a lot of factors came into play: - I'm still a little bitter about being kicked out of Section 420 (behind home plate, below the media) so they could put in the Catalina Club - I have no idea what 2021 is going to look like or what tickets will be worth on an open market. I just don't have much desire to pay money to sit at a game in a mask or wait in a line for an hour to get in the ballpark - It's really hard to get rid of games in April/May - I have a 3 year old and a 20 month old, but only had 2 seats. Eventually will want to go to more games with them anyways - Lived in Lakeview until 2016 and went to tons of games then (pre-kids), maybe 30 or so a year. Live about 4 miles west of the stadium now and it can just be a pain in the ass to get over there, and about 10 games a year is enough for me - What am I really losing as a season ticket holder? The family day is nice but no huge deal. Concert ticket options are nice but not a huge deal to me. Playoff games? I mean how many will there even be in the near future? I was grandfathered into the "Nights & Weekends" package, which was nice. 63 games vs. 82 All in all, I think I made the right choice. Will pick and choose when I want/can go now and if it's a good game/playoff game will just pay a bit extra to go.
  7. Woke up to Marquee on Comcast. Channel 202.
  8. Thanks for posting this pic UM. That was a good day hanging out and I remember we went to Mystic Celt afterwards. Fred loved talking to my dad about small Illinois towns and the truck stops he would frequent. Just a genuine salt of the earth man who loved the Cubs. 2016 World Series is for Fred. RIP buddy
  9. Would you rather have Cespedes to plug into the OF right now/next year or do you prefer having Russell, a high floor prospect, waiting in the wings?
  10. http://www.independent.co.uk/migration_catalog/article5163906.ece/alternates/w620/cow.jpeg
  11. In what world could you ever draft two such pitchers in one draft? Being "decent" in 2 years is a bad phrase. But a couple guys with high floors from college ranks.
  12. Yeah, with the hitters they have coming I really just want 1-2 pitchers from this draft who are almost guaranteed to make the Majors and be decent within 2 years.
  13. Rizzo + for Stanton.
  14. What's wrong with Nola exactly? Stats are amazing from the SEC...just the fact that he profiles as a ceiling #3? Mike Leake-ish? I at least like the idea that he should be to the big league team by 2016.
  15. Rizzo doesn't always not wear batting gloves, does he?
  16. How big of a prospect is Joc Pedersen considered?
  17. Seems they've been that way for a while now.
  18. Why does that bozo have a Wrigley Field patch on his jersey?
  19. Yes, that's what I meant.
  20. What's the deal with tonight's US game?
  21. It's just going to take a ton of $$ at this point and I really don't think the Cubs are going to go there at this point in time.
  22. I just can't see them giving up Betances for Hammel.
  23. I was 6 tabs deep trying to figure out how in the world the Harden trade was a net gain in WAR before I realized that article was nearly 4 years old. And now Josh Donaldson is an MVP candidate.
  24. I will clap for Soriano. Looking forward to just sitting outside tonight and hopefully keeping this one close. Oh and go quick so I can watch end of Heat/Pacers.
