    Maybe, maybe not but when you do things like this (like extended Moore before you have to) it makes players happy. The Bears clearly like the player and wants him here long-term.

    So the Cubs have decided to be the punching bag for the rest of the NL Central? Alrighty then. Pearson's ejection was stupid and the umpire knew it. As for Counsell, it took the TDL to uncorked some emotion. Better late than never.

    This feels like a smart trade for the Cubs. Even if/when Morel/Bigge becomes things for the Rays, the Cubs accomplished something they needed to. I like it.

    I want to believe this is Jake Arrieta 2. Come over to the Cubs from an AL East team, broken. Cubs fixed him and Pearson then goes God-Mode and destroy baseball. The reality is, if he can be Merryweather 2, I'm satisfied.

    Cubs and White Sox are the only two teams in baseball to not score 10 or more runs since the ASB.

    I agree. You either have to extend him (boo) or move on (yeah). I know what I want but I suspect Tom is going to extend Hoyer.

    I do not like managers or FO personnel on their last yr of the contracts. Either extend or move on, imo. So Ricketts has a choice to make with Hoyer: either give Jed a 1 yr extension with the condition that '25 is his last with the Cubs if they don't make the playoffs, or simply move on from Jed this offseason. Lame duck Jed is not good for the Cubs.

    Good on the Cubs for not making this deadline difficult for Hoyer. As for Soto, much like Ohtani, there will be rumors of other teams be involved for his services but in the end Soto won't leave NY. The Cubs will throw a uninspiring offer his way, just so they "tried" and then Hoyer will proceed to his next mediocre plan. Note: I do want Soto but this owner/president combo do not have the guts to actually pursue an elite talent.

    One good/great year and Jordan Love thinks he should be the highest player in the league? If GB was smart that make Love prove the final 8 games is the real Jordan Love and not the first 9 games before they make him the highest player in the game.

    If I am not mistaken this is the last Cubs/Brewers series of the year, barring a playoff match up.
