    I totally spaced on Ortega being the last Cub to hit 3 HRs in a game. I honestly thought it was Bryant (who I also forgot had two 3 HR game as a Cub) who was the last Cub to hit 3 HR in a game.

    Maybe someone who is far more knowledgeable about tiebreakers can correct me but does the Braves/Mets/Padres hold the tiebreaker over the Cubs due to the season series and the Diamonbacks hold the tiebreaker over the Cubs because of their better intradivision record?

    It sucks the Cubs do not play Atl/Ari/NYM/SD again yet there is room for the Yankees and the A's on the schedule.

    I don't have faith in the legal system to make it happen. Which sucks, because if you knowingly get behind the wheel after having been drinking, that should be straight up murder, not death by auto or whatever they are calling it. Yeah this drunk driver should spend the next quarter century plus behind bars but he's more likely to get less than 10. Thoughts and prayers to the Gaudreau's family. As we head into the Labor Day Weekend, just a reminder to be safe.

    Do you really want to replace Bagent with a guy like Tannehill or Mike White? Just keep Bagent. There is not a trade out there worth moving Bagent for.

    I like promoting the new faces of the game. People expected a season like this from Judge but how many people expect Witt, Jr to be this good so quick? So yeah I would vote for Witt.

    I would vote Witt, Jr as MVP and not sleep about it. Take Judge out the Yankees and they are still in playoffs mode, take Witt off the Royals and they are heading towards a top 5 pick.

    About as no-brainer of a promotion as you will ever see. I really do hope he and Shaw can replace Parades and Nico by '26.

    But those teams, imo, were nowhere near as talented as this Bears team. Bears going winless means ALOT of things went wrong. Bears have had some terrible luck but it can not be the bad......rIght? I'm chosing to be cautiously optimistic.

    Only way I'd move Bagent before the season is if the Bears are offered a third. Bagent is worth more to the Bears in 2024 than a 4th round pick.

    I would do it in the offseason. I rather have Bagent as backup over Rypien.
