  1. Final line: Frisch ended up with 11 whiffs. Best game of his pro career.
  2. Erian Rodríguez on a rehab assignment!
  3. Yeah, it's clearly Prior. Cashner and Brown debuted as relievers. Samardzija, Hendricks and Steele weren't top 100 prospects (and Samardzija and Steele debuted as relievers). It's been a pretty rough few decades for homegrown pitchers.
  4. Got to see a few of Eyanson's starts last year when he was at UCSD so a bit biased but I like him. (Also very biased but I would love to see the Cubs take Angel Cervantes because his asst HS coach was my son's little league coach last year and Cervantes and a few teammates played catch with my son and his friends last year.)
  5. Klaw mock: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6337620/2025/05/08/mlb-mock-draft-2025-ethan-holliday/?source=emp_shared_article

  7. Down in the Valley of the Sun, Ronny Cruz has a double and Eli Lovich a triple.
  8. He just didn’t have a good change that last start. He doesn’t have good enough stuff to work around that.
  9. Jordan Wicks had a lot of traffic in the first couple innings but ended up with a nice bounceback start: He did have one HBP. Threw 81 pitches.
  10. Not a great game but good to see Kohl in box scores.
  11. Hot take: He’d be on a few top 100 prospects lists if he were a Dodger.
  12. 33. Matt Shaw 37. Moisés Ballesteros (up 20 spots) 51. Cade Horton 69. Owen Caissie Kevin Alcántara fell off the top 100.
