  1. I don't see why the Raiders game isn't on here, but since AZ and Oakland suck, I won't complain.
  2. Torn ligament in his foot? Crap. Just be back by the playoffs.
  3. Link A look at how some of the prospects they pegged at the beggining of the season for breakout campaigns and other stuff did. They also went over the 05 and 06 draft.
  4. Licey's season starts on miercoles (Wednesday).
  5. I'd do that in a heartbeat. They have no halfway decent OF prospects in the high minors.
  6. How much would one have to give up in a trade for him? I would much prefer him to someone like Carlos Lee. Gotta get rid of Jacque, though.
  7. Leones defeat the Caribes 6-4, box: Leones: C H. Blanco 1/4 Caribes: CF C. Walker 0/5 Tigres were up 7-0 when the game was suspended for rain in the 5th inning, box RF B. Coats 0/2, 2 K (7) Overall: Henry Blanco (Leones): 1/6, .167/.167/.167/.334 Chris Walker (Caribes): 7/21, .333/.417/.524/.941, 3 BB, 5 K, 3/4 SB Buck Coats (Tigres): 3/15, .200/.294/.400/.694, 2 BB, 5 K - today's stats not counted
  8. Culiacan finally wins their first game of the season, 6-3, box: 3B C. McGehee 1/3, RBI (4), BB (2) - overall: 5/21, .238/.304/.333/.637
  9. Anyone else find it amusing that FOX came back from the commercial break with video of Jeff Weaver while playing Weezer's "Hash Pipe" in the background?
  10. Jake. Fox. Gotta work on that IsoD, though. :)
  11. Part of the problem is that the Cubs aren't even well established in parts of Latin America (and obviously not at all in Asia). Err, what UK said.
  12. Yeah, but a Cardinal? We can't allow imposters!
  13. I'd also like to know this. Do they count the people that tune in for only a part of the game? For example, I know I usually couldn't make it past the 3rd inning this year. I think they're measured by having some households a device that tracks their TV viewing habits. This is then extrapolated to the entire region. I don't know how you could do that though. You just don't take 1 or 5% of the city, take the percentage of those who switch on the game, and then extrapolate from that, to 100%. It's just not going to be accurate. I always thought it worked like radio in that they could simply detect the signals coming in and when they switched off. It's not going to be perfectly accurate, but it's going to be close. And, according to goony's link, they also do phone calls on top of the sampling
  14. The AFL audio broadcast schedule. They broadcasted today's Mesa game, the next one they'll do is next Monday. All broadcasts are free and they've archived previous broadcasts too.
  15. Mesa wins 14-9, box: 3B S. Moore 2/4, 3 R, HR (1), RBI (5), BB (5), K (7), SB (2) RP L. Holdzkom 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K/0 BB, 1 HBP RP C. Rapada 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K/0 BB, 2 GO-0 FO, 2 inherited runners - 0 scored Overall: Scott Moore: 5/22, .227/.370/.455/.825, 5 BB, 7 K, 2/2 SB Lincoln Holdzkom: 4 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 6 K/0 BB, 0.00 ERA, 0.25 WHIP Clay Rapada: 3 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 5 K/2 BB, 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  16. Scott Moore with a solo HR in his second AB today to tie the game at 3. He's 1/2 thus far with a K also.
  17. Wright and Reyes are the core of those good players, who happen to be extremely good and come from within and currently underpaid for their production. Their value allows the Mets to pay FA prices for Beltran and surround him with very good players. Exactly. Spend more money on player development too!
  18. helllloooooooo, meaningless statements! Dusty would be proud. Old school? Did Green want to run Edge 50 times?
  19. You can't try and get away from the things you've never been near. 3-run homers are good things. Sac bunts and making things happen waste outs and decrease your run totals, and are therefore bad things. Thank you. I wanted to respond with exactly that, but didn't want to open a whole can of worms in this thread. Waiting for the 3 run homer is what I wish we'd do (or the 2 run double). If you have guys who get on base and hit for power, there would be plenty of opportunities for it, and you'll win plenty of games doing it. Didnt the Cubs live and die by the long ball in 04? Didnt work. Only chance they had to win was win the wind was blowing out. Waiting on the 3-run homer is not smart. What happens when you dont have that 3-run homer? Then how are the Cubs going to win? Small ball to some on this site dosent work. Give me a balanced of attack on offense, a solid rotation, a deep bench, and a bullpen that can hold down the opponents in the late innings. Thats how Hendry should construct the 07 Cubs. What happens when you don't get the 3-run HR? You still have 2 guys on base.
  20. I don't need to see Benson run blocking at all. Oops, pass blocking.
  21. They were going to try to get a doubelheader for both stadiums, but it sounds like one game each has already been postponed.
