  1. That LT pass for a touchdown in the SD game was sweet.
  2. 2 more years? I can't see Slaton sticking around after his junior year.
  3. Thanks for the link! The best part of Latin American winter leagues is testing your Spanish (although, not a lot of it does come up in conversational Spanish, shockingly).
  4. Ugh, my injury was better. Craig, a lil info about Rocky. It looks like he transferred quite a bit in college. While he played both ways in HS, he was recruited by Florida State to play OF, redshirted and returned to the mound once he got to Santa Ana in 2003. In terms of his "big arm": I know he's supposed to throw low 90s with a power slider but his control is lacking. I agree with you on Harvey, I'll believe it when I see it.
  5. Meh, Licey.com doesn't update their comprehensive box scores during the weekends, it appears.

  10. I'd be so ecstatic if that happened.
  11. I think he completed the interview, soccer10k contributes to that site and might clarify.
  12. Regardless, if you start getting really sensitive to remarks that really don't cross the line, you don't need to be reading the thread. In an open college football thread, I hardly think a little smugness is too much to be tolerated. If it gets to the point where it goes from being respectful to coddling posters whose team just lost, it's gone too far. If what ndistops said worked you into a lather, you really just needed to take a time out. Ehh, I was mad at the heat of the moment but I obviously wasn't the only one who thought he went over the top. Seems to be a matter of opinion here.
  13. Who unfortunately for most of this board is just as overrated. not really... at least they haven't lost a game yet, and they did beat the crap out of an arkansas team which has proven to be a very good team. On the road, Wazzu never really came close on their final drive, and as they are showing today against Oregon, they're a decent team. Washington only got to the 35 yard line, and Arizona State did nothing after USC took the lead. So yes, they've had some narrow margins of victory, but in none of those games was there a really serious chance for them to lose in the end. Contrast that against Notre Dame. They got crushed by Michigan. That might only be their only loss, but they would've lost against Michigan State if the Spartans hadn't given the game away. And then today, they had to score in the last minute to win. That's 3 games that have been more dangerous for them than anything USC has played. USC beat an Arkansas team without McFadden. USC is overrated too and pretty average on offense, especially considering the weapons they have. EDIT: USC certainly hasn't played a team as good as Michigan.
  14. Their defense has been this good all season (outside of the first quarter in Oregon) but the offense hasn't been pretty bad all year (outside of the Utah game). I don't know how bad I've made them sound, but they're not that great a team, I'd be happy with a 5th place finish. Cowan's actually a redshirt soph.
  15. Maybe you should read a Bears thread before making such an assinine comment. Or should I quote every "celebrate your team winning going over the top" comment I find from last Monday? It's in the Bears game thread? Cubs/Bears/Bulls are going to be different (and Illini basketball). This wasn't the ND game thread, I'd have stayed out if it was. It was the college football thread. So if there was a UCLA/ND game thread you would have stayed out of it? I don't buy it. Down the stretch of this game - if it was mostly populated by ND fans - yes.

  17. alright im confsed, are you pro-cal or are you just masochisticly cynical:) I'm a UCLA alumnus and pro-Pac 10. Cal losing to Washington doesn't help the conference. Cal probably is my second favorite football team since they're a fellow UC school.
  18. Yay Cal. Oh boy are we going to get our asses kicked by Cal next week.
  19. And Cal isn't helping my mood any.
  20. This is why people don't like Notre Dame. I've seen this movie a lot of times, and it always ends with a Quinn TD. See? All I see is him making a prediction, it coming true, and him quoting the prediction. Happens all the time in Bears game threads or Cubs game threads. Maybe it can come off smug in text, maybe he was being smug, who knows? ND didn't deserve to win it, especially that way, but they did. Quinn did play well despite the rest of the team doing almost nothing, and they pulled out a second game they deserved to lose. I understand being a UCLA fan has to be really frustrating, especially having watched them outplay a largely board-hated ranked ND team for about 50 minutes, but I don't happen to see anything wrong with a fan of a supposedly "neutral" team making a prediction and being happy when it comes true. There is some serious hypocrisy among board members on trolling regarding specific teams. I understand it for the Cards, this being a Cub board. I somewhat understand it for the Sox, despite it being a pot/kettle thing most often. I don't understand it for ND, and really don't think that's fair. Quoting yourself and saying "See?" sure makes it seem pretty smug (putting it mildly). Hell ndistops himself said he should have put his first post less harshly. I agree that nd isn't trolling or anything. If things were flipped, I wouldn't post something like that about UCLA, whether or not there was an ND fan on this board, especially not if an ND fan was posting in the thread. Doesn't seem polite. You can celebrate your team winning without going over the top.
  21. Yeah, the defense just look confused the last few plays. They were on the field far too long. Svoboda/Dorrell need to stop getting conservative. I just want Svoboda gone already, he's a nightmare. And nothing the NBC crew was saying was pissing me off more than when they were compliment Svoboda and his play calling.
  22. You're really lucky I have to bite my tongue since I'm a mod. I'm honestly curious as to why ND beating UCLA by 3 is any less an indicator of an average team as USC beating UW by 3. Both games at home. Both with a strong amount of luck. How is USC going to kill us based on that? You guys have a very good defense and you made ND work for everything. You really don't get it. It's not being explained very well. I made a prediction. Similar predictions have been made literally thousands of times in threads like this, college, pro, baseball, b-ball...why is this any different? Because it came from an ND fan? Because another NSBBer's team was involved? Because it was about an overrated team? I don't get it. I wasn't issuing a prediction. I'm (shocking, I know) a little mad right now and you're not helping this situation by being the average ND homer when you post crap like this: This is why people don't like Notre Dame. I've seen this movie a lot of times, and it always ends with a Quinn TD. See?
