  1. Can someone (goony) go break the Yankees' fax machine? :)
  2. Yeah, most teams don't have the balls to do that. They tend to fall in love with their young guy.
  3. I don't see this as a strange move. The Padres have made it a priority to get power, they don't have too many positions to do it. Getting Kouzmanoff at third base will help fill some power and now they have to fill a vacant second base position where less power would have been available. They still have one OF position where they can try to get a power hitter.
  4. Well, a leak would run counter to the process since the Lions aren't supposed to know which MLB team gave the winning bid. The leak would have to come from the commissioner's office, I doubt that'd happen (at least not immediately). I'm sure it will eventually come out before the 4 days Seibu has.
  5. Sure. But let's see how he can rebound from such a severe injury.
  6. Hughes better be in their rotation next year. If they don't get Matzusaka, I expect Hughes will be one of their top 2 starters.
  7. Your going to be waiting a while. You won't find anything out today. Yeah, I doubt we'll hear the announcement tonight.
  8. Doesn't the leading contender change once it's determined which teams lost out on Matsuzaka? It depends on if those teams that lost are interested in Igawa, though. Some might not. But yes, at this point, the Braves are the leading contender.
  9. Igawa is expected to be posted once the mad rush over Matzusaka is over. The Braves are supposed to be the leading contender.
  10. Well, it's a small sample size, certainly. He's 4 for his last 29 with 7 K, 3 BB and 2 HBP in that time.
  11. Against the Marlins. That was awesome. Yeah I remember that play too, I just remember it being against the Brewers and it being a double...hmmm I guess I'm losing it. Nah, it was the Marlins and it was a single to RF.
  12. Against the Marlins. That was awesome.
  13. I've brought it up to the other mods, we'll see what the consensus is.

  15. I'm pretty sure he was. I think I remember him being with West Tenn a few years ago. Correct, he was Cub property for part of 2002 at West Tenn.

  17. I haven't watched the games as I'm in LA and there isn't any video online. Looking at the box scores and the game logs, it looks like he has successfully played all his chances in the last 5 games, not just gotten away with plays where errors can't be charged but he made mistakes. In his first game after his 6th error, though, he didn't even get a ball hit to him all game, so it's really been 4 straight good games on defense. But again, I'm not watching the games - I'm only judging based on game logs and box scores. I haven't read any personal accounts either from folks who've watched.
  18. Licey wins 2-1, box (PDF): CF F. Pie 0/3 Overall: 16/61, .262/.286/.328/.614, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 12 K, 4 2B, 3/3 SB
