It was a fair call. All you have to do to avoid it is not be a moron No. It was an garbage call. Break up the players and give them a warning. Jones did stuff after the ref tried to break them up.
Are you kidding? He taunted the defensive player, pushed the defensive player, made contact with his helmet and threw the ball at him. All in front of TWO refs.
Not only that, but don't we nearly always lose when Belushi is in the booth? Please cancel that appearance. Please. While we're at it, can we cancel ESPN's announcers?
IIRC, Prior still has 2 options left and he hasn't acquired the necessary service time to be able to refuse being optioned. I believe that is right...and then wrong. 10man is right on Prior not having the necessary service time. He's 41 days short as of now.
Well, the four bad games count as much as the six good games. It's not like those bad games shouldn't count. The troubling thing is that Rex has regressed over the last several weeks. Right now, Rex is playing at a level that is unacceptable. This is a big game for him. Good Rex should be able to put up a respectable performance against a bad team such as the Rams. Even if it's a ball control performance against a team that is weak against the run, that's OK. But if he is throwing picks on Monday Night, I can't think of a reason not to go to Griese. This is the biggest thing with Rex's bad games. One shouldn't expect him to maintain his early season play nor expect him not to have bad games, but one should expect him to at least level off to a more normal play. He's getting worse and worse, and that's why the bad games are so concerning.
Unless they put him on the IR, I'd imagine they won't really have a good sense of things for a few weeks. Vasher's hamstring is getting better, but it sure doesn't sound like he'll play Monday night. Nor should he. Yes but they said he was going to Dallas or something to check out his hammy, did they ever have any news after that? Tommie will see the specialist in Dallas this coming week.
Marmol had 59 walks and 59 K's last season. What is it about that that makes you think he's the most ready? I don't think he said that Marmol was most ready, just that he was most likely to reach his ceiling. Guzman's injury history can't be ignored. It does impact the likelihood with which he will reach his ceiling. Marmol has never had an arm injury and has much less wear and tear. Plus he seems to be progressing quickly as a pitcher. Guzman is the better prospect because of what he has already accomplished and the sense that he can do it again. But he has yet to show us that he can. His numbers last season weren't terribly inspiring. Here's hoping that he can figure it out. What does the bolded statement imply to you? I find it hard to believe Marmol is more likely to achieve his ceiling than Marshall is.
You didn't know Californians drove like grandmas in the snow? (There's also a chunk who think they have to drive in the snow like they are on the Audobon.) 6" in our local mtns from last night through this morning. It'd be nice if we could get a storm with a foot or so of powder. I'd be all over that.
We do. We also realize that it's not all on him, that there are ways to overcome this game plan that Turner hasn't done a good job on and that Griese might not be that great either.
According to the eluniversal.com web site, the VWL season is over, but according to the Caribes' team web site there are a dozen or so more games.
Exactly. While the Cubs are opening their wallets on free agents, I really would like it if they continue to revamp the international scouting big time to go along with what Wilken will do. And if you're going to wait on better free agent classes, as Tim said, might as well trade away your tradeable assets and start over.
