  1. Better shot this possesion than the last one in regulation, plz.
  2. Meh...too predictible an offensive set. Nice try by Gordon, though. To overtime...
  3. Good help D and nice close out by Noc. Nice stop. C'mon, let's win it here.
  4. OMG, Ben Wallace! FT shooting ace!
  5. Tank Johnson should take these refs clubbing. What BS.
  6. Considering the source, I'm not shocked that Andy's dad wouldn't say nice things about Ryu. But I doubt Ryu was a complete angel here.
  7. That's what I heard as well.
  8. I'd rather spend the money on Briggs. Briggs is going to get franchised. If they dont the Bears are waaay to nice. Bryan Robinson? He sucks but thats all i can think of right now. He might be playin i dunno. I hope the Bears franchise Briggs. Not sure about the FA market, but I believe Ian Scott is a RFA or a regular FA this offseason. Frankly, I like what Angelo has done in the draft at DT, if the Bears feel they need another DT, I'd rather they go that route.
  9. Yep. He was reportedly massively overweight while pitching for Daytona at the start of their season a couple of years back. He also broke his non-pitching hand. One account was that he was really frustrated with an outing and punched a wall out of anger. Another account was that he got into a fight with JK Ryu over who had a larger signing bonus. Ryu apparently won that fight on both accounts. This could turn out to be a Bobby Jenks-like move for the Sox in having an overweight guy with attitude problems finally reach his upside. Or he could end up being an enormous headache and eat himself out of baseball. Either way, I'm impressed the White Sox actually got something of value for Gload. I don't know about the fight with J.K. Ryu. If Mr. Sisco had been foolish enough to try that, there might not be much left of him. I hear J.K. is quite skilled in martial arts. There are many stories about what exactly happened but he certainly got embarassed by Ryu.
  10. I'd rather spend the money on Briggs.
  11. Unless he goes to prison for a long time, there will be plenty of teams who would pick him up in a heart beat so no his football career isint probably over Maybe teams will give him a chance, but he doesn't seem to want to change his gangster ways. Honestly, I'm not sure what last night's incident showed about his "gangster ways" (unless we know more information about what happened). It just continued to show how bad his judgement is/that he doesn't think.
  12. You got the proof for that one? actually, he was accused of beating his wife with a bat when she refused to grant him a divorce, but the charges were later dismissed. Indeed, so we don't know what really happened.
  13. Rumor is the bodyguard who was shot was the guy who was arrested at the raid on Thursday. And Jeff Dickerson had this to say: "The Bears told Tank yesterday for the tenth and last time to stop hanging out with bad guys like Willie B. Posey. This is a complete dismissal of Jerry Angelo's and Lovie Smith's authority."
  14. And since we have two topics, I merged the two (just a mod with nothing better to do on Saturday). Baseball Discussions seems more appropriate.
  15. I added the last three words to the title of the thread because I think there's a huge difference between retiring before next season and retiring in 2010.
  16. I think the biggest problem is going to be depth/rotation-wise at DT. The Bears were able to play Tommie, Tank, Ian Scott and Boone previously and are now down two of their better DTs. Part of the solution to extra pass rush is goign to come from Alex Brown going to DT with Anderson and Ogunleye at the end position (though I'm not too sure how that's going to work). But I definitely agree that Tank alone is not the factor that is going to keep the Bears from the Super Bowl. No Tank, Tommie and Mike Brown? Apparently that's a different story.
  17. The last time I checked you can't punish someone merely for being at the scene of a crime. But the scene of the crime was a club, not some place like his home. The Bears didn't deactivate him to go out late at night after being arrested while on probation. Being in a bar/club violated the terms of his bond (consuming any alcohol would have as well). Well, I didn't know that but that makes it even stupider on Tank's part. Geez.
  18. The last time I checked you can't punish someone merely for being at the scene of a crime. But the scene of the crime was a club, not some place like his home. The Bears didn't deactivate him to go out late at night after being arrested while on probation. he's definitely got something wrong with him, but i don't agree with punishing fans by suspending or cutting him before this season is up. i've lived and died with this team forever, the players aren't the only ones hoping to win a superbowl here. I'm just disappointed in his EXTREME case of bad judgement. Doing the same thing that got you on probation while on probation and then hitting the clubs after you've been deactivated to gather yourself. I don't know enough of the situation to know what punishment he deserves from the Bears and the NFL (or the justice system). And yeah, I'll be disappointed with the Bears if they don't make the Super Bowl, but after 2001-02 and last season, I'd be happy with winning a game in the second round.

  20. I disagree with this part of the analysis. He was a Rule 5 pickup in 2005, and the bullpen made sense as a way to keep him on the roster. Also, he's still young enough that limiting his pitches is probably a smart idea. Keeping him in the bullpen is one way to do that (but not the only way, of course). Well, keeping him in the bullpen in 2006 didn't make much sense. Send him to AAA and have him work on starting again.
  21. You got the proof for that one?
