  1. No brawls for Ronny today. Tigres beat the Navegantes 8-5, box: SS R. Cedeño 0/5, K (1) C H. Blanco 1/2, K (2) 1B T. Pérez 0/4, 2 K (2) Overall (Finals): Henry Blanco (Navegantes): 1/5, 2 K Tomás Pérez (Navegantes): 0/7, 2 K Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 0/5, 1 BB, 1 K
  2. I doubt it, especially since Rivera isn't on the same page as Angelo and isn't big on the Cover-2. Why is Lovie the lowest paid coach? Because he's on his first coaching contract, it doesn't necessarily mean the Bears are cheap (they are).
  3. St. Louis doesn't have a very good system, but that has to be a pretty awful list to not have at least Rasmus on it, if not Garcia too. I like Garcia more than Rasmus, at least one of them should be on the list.
  4. I really don't see Samardzija fast-tracking. He has a lot to learn, especially since he didn't put as much time into baseball as most college prospects. I think 2009 is more likely. And few players are as quick to the big leagues as Prior in this day and age (9 minor league starts before reaching the big leagues).
  5. Crap, don't know why i had Izzy listed as a DT in that scenario. He'd be back at the ends with Tommie and Dusty back. I'm not sure what Scott's free agent status is (RFA or UFA), but I'd like them to keep him if it's not too costly. Without a doubt, I want Ian back. He gives them a different look at DT than guys like Tommie and Tank.
  6. Peterson could be just find as a change of pace back. The reason I'd trade Ogunleye is that he's the oldest D end on the team. It's not that I want to get rid of him, but he hasn't been as good as I'd hoped he'd be, and with Anderson around, Wale seems to be the expendable one on the line. Not to argue whether or not we should keep Wale (I'm sort of on the fence about that), but if they do, the Bears are going to have amazing depth on the line next year w/Dusty and Tommie. Brown, Wale, Anderson at the ends... Tommie, Tank, Dusty Dvoracek, Scott, Idonije, Boone at the tackles... Wow  Then, I'd like to pick up a safety and some offensive line help in the draft. Maybe a tight end. Perhaps a QB (just because) in the later rounds. They need to phase in some young o-linemen over the next few drafts. Idonije will just go over to DE and remember, Scott is a FA (or is he a RFA?).
  7. They had the Cubs at 15 last year.
  8. BA ranked the Cubs' system 18th overall.
  9. If the Bears do trade TJ (I think at best they can get a 3rd rounder for him), they do need to replace Benson's touches for next year with a RB with a similar style to Jones.
  10. Probably not a first rounder, but he might get you a 2nd rounder. I wonder if any team would be interested in Jones and Wale together. How old is Jones? I wouldn't trade much for a backup RB as they are probably the easiest thing to find. Jones came into the league the same year as Urlacher, so he has been around a little while. I think he is definitly worth a #2 though. He is not a back-up running back. He would start for a lot of teams. 1300-1400 yard running backs are not that common. He did it last year, and he would have done it this year, but the Bears gave Benson a lot of carries towards the end of the season. Also if he can play well next Sunday and the Bears win the Super Bowl, his value goes up. The demand always seems to be higher for guys coming off a Super Bowl win. I think Wale can get us a 2nd round pick as well. Why would we trade Adewale anyway? We need to reach a decision on Alex Brown at least, this guy seems to get by getting 5 sacks a year, and 4 of them are against the Giants. We need both of them and Anderson next season.
  11. Neither was Adam Greenberg. All I saying, if the Cubs won't consider Soriano, or a platoon of Jones/Theriot in CF, Walker or Fuld would be BETTER option then going after Bernie Williams or Steve Finley. But Adam Greenberg was much further along than Fuld for sure, and imo, Walker too. Where is Greenberg now? He's in the KC Royals system, he was with the Dodgers last season after the Cubs released him.
  12. Is that the same Jeremi Gonzalez of early 1997-98 Cubs fame? Yes. But now it's Geremi. These games are taking place in Venezuela, for those interested.

  14. Well, his best run involved a lot of east/west. But that was my favorite TJ game since he came here. That's how Jones should be used, as the complementary player to Benson's relentless pounding of the ball. This game actually has me wanting TJ back next year as a complimentary back. The combination of him and Benson, although they did have a slow start, has really turned into a powerful weapon. I've always wanted him back as the other guy. He's not that highly paid, I'm guessing they can keep him without much trouble. And he probably won't be worth much in the trade market.
  15. That's what I thought it was, but my Spanish is limited. A bench-clearing brawl and the pitcher and batter were ejected...but how does a walk cause a bench-clearing brawl? And yes, this is former Cub Géremi González.
  16. The Bears win. You sure? I hope the Bears not being able to get 7 in the red zone here doesn't come back to haunt them. :x Is it an NFL Replay re-air? W/all the extra NFL Films goodies and stuff? yes and in watching, i wish TJ would run downhill like he did sunday all the time Vasher had some great quotes, but Urlacher's response to the question about Reggie Bush's taunting was the best.

  18. they re-aired it at 7 too....i dvr'd it. Yeah, I'm doing the same.
  19. They're re-airing the NFC Championship on NFL Network right now. :)
  20. Tigres beat the Navegantes 6-2, box: C H. Blanco 0/3, K (1) 1B T. Pérez 0/3, RBI SS R. Cedeño 0/0, BB (1) - ejected in the second inning after the walk, for arguing with opposing pitcher Géremi González in a bench-clearing altercation: Overall (Finals): Henry Blanco (Leones): 0/3, 1 K Tomás Pérez (Navegantes): 0/3 Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 0/0, 1 BB
  21. It's not everybody, Outshine, it's just me. And my reasoning...cheaper in house candidates are better then more expensive out of the org candidates. It is also my reasoning, that replacing Fuld/Walker, would be easier to replace then a vet who may be hot, at the time the Cubs are looking to call up Pie. It's no secret the Cubs want Pie in CF at some point in 2007, and Walker/Fuld would give Pie the least resistance for the position. And if Fuld/Walker does prove they are not major leaguers, then they will be gone quicker then Adam Greenberg. What I am saying is, I rather have Fuld/Walker in CF, then some crappy FA vet. Besides, I didn't say I was convinced that Fuld/Walker would be serviceable in CF, but considering the options, I rather have Fuld/Walker over somebody like Finley/Eric Young, or even a Shannon Stewart. Finley or EY or Shannon Stewart would outperform Chris Walker or Fuld. The furtherest Fuld has advanced in the minors was his half-season at high-A (assuming he's healthy enough to play). Both are worse defensively than Pie and Walker has major issues with contact. Pagan would likely do better. Pie would do better.
  22. How the hell did they let you graduate? From Northwestern, at that.
  23. Not sure what happens to the remaining 17.5%. By the way, the cheapest ticket to sell on the secondary market was about $2,400. :?: Bears: 17.5% Colts: 17.5% Remaining NFL Teams: 35% NFL (for sponspors, network parners, licensees): ~25% Dolphins: 5% -------------- Total: 100%
