I heard the Braves offered a $4 mil bonus a while back, but Carter and his agent wanted the full slot value. Wrist injuries aren't typically big issues for pitchers and are more worrisome for hitters (takes away power and can be a chronic problem). I don't understand why the Braves didn't offer the full value. If his elbow and shoulder area look fine then you shouldn't really haggle over other stuff. Anthopoulos has a reputation of doing this now - he didn’t sign first rounders Tyler Beede in 2011 or Phil Bickford in 2013.
