There's no way in hell they're going to be able to sign Solemeto, White, and Chandler, right? Right??? There's a reason they didn't take Leiter or the prep shortstops first.

Tough sign, committed to Clemson for baseball and football.
-
Teams with lots of pool space do try to push these guys down (go ahead and tell teams in the 20s you've agreed on a bonus that's higher than their slot) which I'm sure the Pirates did with Solemeto but also, I'm sure they had a few guys they were trying to do this with.

Cubs draft prep 3B James Triantos - NamedLikedMaddux/IvyFutures had it nailed.
-
Goodness, what an amazing draft for UCLA.
-
He graduated HS early and enrolled at Florida in what should’ve been his senior year of HS so he actually does have some leverage.

And/or confident in their ability to teach and improve curves.

Fangraphs had him 17th with a 45 FV:

ESPN/Kiley McDaniel:

Wacha obviously had better velocity but also had a plus changeup. It’s a good pick, it’s good value, it’s just not sexy. Admittedly there’s a lot of high ceiling volatility in the backfields and Myrtle Beach so a bit of safety isn’t the end of the world.
-
BA ranked him 13th.

And the White Sox immediately do something fun:

Boring:

Not a big Madden fan either but he’s better than Fabian or Wicks.

Really annoyed that non-Cub NL Central teams are picking UCLA Bruins in the first round.
-
Seattle gets Ford who was my favorite somewhat realistic option for the Cubs.
