  1. Of course this happens when the Cubs are linked to a top-two IFA this year.
  2. You know what else the Dodgers and Braves have in common in that timeframe? Lol Man, I bet it must really suck to have never won a World Series this century.
  3. Yeah, it’s normally a one-level drop but catchers are more likely to drop multiple levels than other positions since the big league camp uses more catchers.
  4. Today it’s the 2022 draft’s turn to make us feel old.
  5. https://www.thecubreporter.com/03102020/cubs-2020-minor-league-camp-rosters Notable injuries: Cory Abbott, Chase Strumpf (LIMTED ACTIVITY - left arm in cast) Amongst players who played in the DSL last year, I see Joel Machado, Rafael Morel and Yohendrick Piñango on the Eugene/Mesa roster. Ronnier Quintero is on the South Bend roster (obviously things will change as guys get sent down from big league camp).
  6. But Keith Law thinks he’s only “adequate” behind the plate.
  7. MLB Pipeline has the Cubs with the 23rd best farm system in baseball. https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-farm-system-rankings?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  8. I agree with your general premise that this is a a atrong dradt at CF but Kjerstad is already a corner OF and everything I’ve read leads me to believe Hendrick is destined to be a corner OF professionally.
  9. Aramis Ademan is Pipeline’s Cubs’ 31st prospect.
  10. I imagine the Nationals at #22 or #56 would be a possible landing spot for Ginn. He's a draft-eligible sophomore with college leverage and already passed on big money from the Dodgers coming out of high school, so I think it'll have to be a team with multiple day 1 picks who will have a higher bonus pool to spend.
  11. JT Ginn has Tommy John surgery. Was a probable first rounder, potential top 10 pick before the injury.
  12. I think Gallardo's best chance at meaningful South Bend innings this year is to wait for injuries or promotion in May/June and get bumped up from Extended ST. For both him and Cruz, I think it really depends on where last year's college picks start.
  13. MLB Pipeline's top 30 Cubs prospects:
  14. Strumpf at 17 is pretty wild too.
  15. Keith Law has his MLB top farms list. Has the Cubs at 28 with only Washington and Milwaukee below them. He's the only one who hasn't ranked them in the 15-22 range this year. Some other rankings that don't match the general consensus like Detroit at 19 and Oakland at 26 (too low) and he's much higher than most on NYY at 6 and the Cardinals at 9.
  16. Good to hear probably I’d say so. Meyer is starting to get mocked in the top 15 in a draft that’s considered stronger with college pitching.
