    Leeper and Little both had good multi-inning outings for Iowa at an opportune time. Though I wouldn’t be shocked if they use the vacant 40-man spot to call up Newcomb tomorrow for the doubleheader.

    luke little strikes me as a guy who, as long as he stays healthy, is highly likely to pitch in the major leagues. he's got big-time fastball velocity coming from a tall frame, and the strikeout rate and batting average against are elite. even if his command doesn't improve he should at least be a fastball-slider setup man or closer. Yeah, I think he’s a reliever in the big leagues. He just doesn’t seem athletic enough to repeat his delivery and command his stuff for a full start. He needs all the innings he can get now but when they decide to move him to the bullpen, I think he’ll move fast.
