I do think when the move is eventually made, you have a really good high leverage reliever in Herz (Hader on the optimistic end, hopefully without the racism?).
Herz’ final line: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K. In his AA debut, Riley Martin came in and made sure Herz’ runners were stranded. 4-1 Tennessee in the 7th.
The Smokies score 3 in the top of the first on a bases loaded walk by Chase Strumpf and then an errant pickoff by Pensacola’s catcher that allowed to 2 more to score. DJ Herz starting for Tennessee.
Was a good story tonight. Drafted by the Angels in 2017. Released last year. Hitting .163 on the year and .188 for his career, and goes 2-3 with the bombs and scored all 3 runs. His 2nd was off the Angels third round pick this year Ben Joyce, who was sitting between 99-102 the whole inning. He also did this tonight:
Playoff Game (Central Time): SL Division Series Game 3: Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm (best-of-3 series 1-1) Regular Season Game (Central Time): Iowa at Omaha, 6:35 pm Probable Starter: RHP Caleb Kilian
I think this offseason, Canario will universally be in the Cubs top 10 across the major publications. We know a lot of the major publications take till the offseason to bump certain guys up. MLB Pipeline already has him in their top 10.
BA ranked the top 20 IFAs for 1/15/23 by bonus. No sign of Fernando Cruz in this list so I think we can safely assume he’s a 2024 kid. The Cubs have 2 in the top 20 and are the only team with 2 kids in this top 20:
Playoff Game (Central Time): SL Division Series Game 2: Tennessee vs Rocket City, 6:35 pm (Tennessee trails best-of-3 series 1-0) Probable Starter: RHP Ben Brown Regular Season Game (Central Time): Iowa at Omaha, 6:35 pm
