  1. Go see Hustle & Flow by yourself. eh, not interested in seeing that. looks cheap. if i go to the game tonight, i will be going by myself if that makes you feel any better. Psh, even Rocket got a date.
  2. Yes. Luis Montanez with a 1-out walk.
  3. Wow, you're ahead of me by a bit! HR #5 for Casey McGehee. Brandon Sing follows with a line single.
  4. Casey Kopitzke goes to RF for a single - the Jaxx first baserunner. Ryan O'Malley follows with a sac bunt. Dwaine Bacon now up with two outs. Bacon strikes out. :( To the 4th, Tennessee leads 2-0.
  5. Yay! Ron replied to my e-mail! Angel is throwing in Mesa and throwing very well ("back to his normal self"). The main goal is for Angel to throw in the AFL, but he should get some action somewhere this summer too (Ron: "hopefully for our team"). According to Ron, Angel Guzman is the most dominating pitcher he has ever seen at AA.
  6. Haha, O'Malley struck out a guy who was trying to swing at a pitch while getting away from it at the same time.
  7. In the pre-game show, Oneiri Fleita told Ron Felix Pie should be back in about 7 days. It sounds like he also mentioned something about Gooz (time to e-mail Ron!). I wish I had heard the pregame show, rather than searching for my MIA keys.
  8. Bah, Tennessee has jumped ahead 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
  9. I guess it depends on your interpretation. She's 19. A 22-year-old guy interested in a 19-year-old woman? And I thought I had heard everything. Don't mess up. And by that I mean don't knock over little kids to get a HR ball. If you knock over some teenagers to get a HR ball and give it to a little kid, though, that might get you some points. Better a 19-year old than no date, eh Jon?
  10. No. Actually, Corey was asked where he wanted to hit, what his goal was. I'm glad Corey didn't want to always be a #7 hitter. I don't see why his size matters in being a #3 hitter, Corey is extremely strong. He's also much stronger than Pierre and Ichiro. He's always been a power hitter, just because he's 5'7 and 175 lbs doesn't mean he shouldn't be. This year's awful results are partly due to a shorter, slappier swing that the Cubs have instilled in Corey since they want him to leadoff.
  11. lol, I'm sorry, but this statement just made me laugh. His potential to be an "above average" second baseman (above average 2nd baseman, thats probably a step down from Todd Walker...I consider Walker "good") is what would make him our #2 prospect? I think he will turn out as good as Todd Walker. If we had someone in the minor league system who could get on base as effectively as Todd Walker, hit for just slightly less power but provide better speed and defense, I think that merits being the #2 prospect in the system. I have seen enough guys with boatloads of "potential" fall by the wayside... personally I like the guy with a polished approach at the plate and a better chance to reach his projected ceiling. The polished approach doesn't mean as much if the player is in low A. Especially when he's coming out of a big time college program. While Eric is more likely to reach his projected ceiling, his projected ceiling is much lower than higher potential guys like Pie, Harvey, Dopirak and Pawelek. I like to combine the likelihood of reaching a projected ceiling with how high that projected ceiling is - I think it makes for a better judge of a prospect's chances.
  12. Of course, we know that WON'T happen... oh, well. I would rather they send down Cedeno anyways. Don't want the poor kid to rot on our bench any longer than he has to. Cedeño will definitely be going back to AAA (and getting some PT, thankfully) when Nomar is ready. Macias is going nowhere, folks.
  13. Hairston Walker Dunn Lee Ramirez Burnitz Barrett Cedeño With Nomar... Hairston Walker Dunn Lee Ramirez Burnitz Garciaparra Barrett
  14. Just blame me for IMing you about it. All you guys IMing eachother and stuff.. I feel left out.. :( I actually IMed raisin to ask if I should get a ARam jersey or Lee jersey, then he had to say this. Actually, I think CT told me first. But whatever. If it makes you feel any better, I told both of them. But CPatt20 told me so I guess he is to blame. BOCF was the first to tell me. Slugger and Raisin also later informed me, but they were too late. :P Dangit, I told everyone second. I told Slugger first, though - I deserve kudos for that!
  15. Or save money and re-sign Dempster. And if this trade goes down, poor Rich Hill (and his HR rate). Because his walk rate that hes shown in all but the last 26.2 innings still scares the bejesus out of me. I would like to sign him as a set up man, and am loving what he is doing right now, but I'm leary of his sustainability. Although I think his saves/chances stat is going to command him decent money on the market (for less than a year's worth of experience) which is why I think Ryan will also be the better value. Spending 10M on the entire outfield should leave us financially sound to spend the extra money on Ryan. While I too am not completely sold on Dempster yet, he should come much cheaper than BJ Ryan, which is why I'd prefer Dempster.
  16. :preparing to move this thread out of Rivalries (or torment Rocket some more):
  17. Or save money and re-sign Dempster. And if this trade goes down, poor Rich Hill (and his HR rate).
  18. I have to edit the title to reflect this. Please don't take it the wrong way, and one of the mods will edit it out if the trade does go down. I'm a huge Corey Patterson fan, but I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. And welcome to the board!
  19. That's 13 scoreless innings since the AAA all-star break. And West Tenn regained sole possession of first place today. :D
  20. AHH! Why do you have that........THING......as your avatar. Kill it. Kill it! <- doesnt like him. You point to your Tupac avatar, though. :-k Don't hate on Stephen A. He's getting his own show on ESPN2!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait. He was awesome the one time I saw him host Rome is Burning. He was interviewing Amanda Beard and the whole interview he hit on her. It was captivating TV. I love you, Stephen A. Smith. The A stands for Admirable. I can't wait for it either!!!
  21. Congrats! Make sure she doesn't walk out on you mad because she thinks you're in love with Adam Dunn.
  22. They are like Brett Farve when its below freezing! UNSTOPABLE. But we still suck. unfortunately, he's sucked in his last few cold weather starts...the regular season game VS Jacksonville came to mind (the one where Robert Ferguson got clotheslined) and of course the playoff loss to the Queens. :( anyway, im going to SIU for open house this weekend and it's probably going to be close to the 100's there too. doesn't bother me though, i love hot weather :D Unfortunately!?
