  1. Agreed, but he still needs to run a little harder.
  2. That was funny defense to watch. Aramis' baserunning wasn't funny.
  3. Get Zambrano to score without exerting too much energy, plz.
  4. Even if Carpenter isn't getting hit hard, small ball would have been a waste. I understand the philosophy, but... we scored a run. How is that a waste?? You wasted Walker's AB.
  5. :-k Former? Eyeliner Boy took a bad route (and got called off).
  6. Even if Carpenter isn't getting hit hard, small ball would have been a waste.
  7. Ugh. As a CF, I have to say Jim Edmonds should have caught that one.
  8. Corey tried that slappy nonsense this year with the Cubs and that's what's got him demoted to AAA.
  9. He's the top pitching prospect in the Cubs' system right now, imo. Agreed.
  10. Also keep in mind that after a full high school season the Cubs don't want to pitch him that many more innings; hence the pitch count. Good point. With that in mind, I think his chances of making it to Boise this year are very slim.
  11. I'll like him back if he wants to sign for 2-3 years.
  12. For the lazy: Cubs: 18. Felix Pie 80. Sean Marshall 98. Brian Dopirak 100. Rich Hill 118. Angel Guzman 125. Ryan Harvey 137. Eric Patterson 148. Sean Gallagher Matt Murton would have ranked around 140 had he not been called up. The third Cardinal on the list is RHP Chris Lambert at 116. Interesting read, I can see where they come from but I still disagree with some of their rankings (overall and with the Cubs).
  13. I really like their rotation. Harden is awesome.
  14. You have to wonder when you read that stuff...are Cinci fans so much more intelligent than the Reds' management? Apparently not. Why? The mistake in regards to the order of what levels he was at in the minors is because the listing of stats came in the AAA-AA-A order, not chronological order. And Rich has given up 20 HRs in 100+ IP. Rich Hill is definitely not the best prospect in baseball. Heck, I'd say he's not even the best pitching prospect on the Cubs. I agree which makes me wonder why the Cubs wouldn't part with him in the right deal. Because they don't view Adam Dunn as the right player and they probably think more highly of Hill than I do.

  16. He's on a pitch count (which has gotten higher over the course of the last few starts) and he's been working on fixing his mechanics. I doubt it, at best, he might get a few starts at Boise at the end of the season.
  17. Iowa: RHP Jon Leicester (1-3, 7.02 ERA) @ RHP Josh Rupe (1-5, 9.64 ERA) West Tenn: RHP Ricky Nolasco (8-1, 3.16 ERA) @ LHP Jason Cromer (4-5, 4.94 ERA Daytona (game 2): LHP Yorkin Ferreras (0-3, 8.87 ERA, 22.1 IP, 31 K, 10 BB) Peoria: LHP Chris Shaver (3-6, 4.30 ERA) vs. LHP AJ Wideman (5-6, 4.89 ERA) Boise: LHP Darin Downs (2-2, 2.30 ERA, 27.1 IP, 28 K, 8 BB) Mesa: RHP Jose Pina (2-0, 3.00 ERA) or RHP Felin Santana (1-1, 4.50 ERA)
  18. Welly threw 7 innings the day before Hill, he might not be able to offer much in the way of pen help tomorrow. On the other hand, he's red hot, throwing 13 consecutive shutout innings since the AAA all-star break.
  19. Thanks for taking your time, Mr. Dunn! Pitchers like Rich Hill and Ricky Nolasco have praised you quite a bit this year and have given you a lot of credit for their success. What sort of role did you play as pitching coach for those two? What do you tell someone like Ricky Nolasco who has been at AA before? How did you work with Rich Hill and help him improve his control? What are your overall impressions of two of my favorite Cubs prospects, Sean Marshall and Carlos Marmol?
  20. So the D-Cubs have power outages during the games that don't get rained out? Ugh! Looks like the outage disrupted a good game from Randy Wells too.
  21. Thanks! Azumah is a playmaker. A Wisconsin fan who likes the Bears? I'm not sure if I've ever met a Badger who hasn't been a Packer fan. But I'm not from Wisconsin. I just went to UW. So it makes sense. You're a good man, don't let them tell you otherwise. (but Tillman > Azumah)
  22. No. He doesn't have the experience. you can't be serious. neifi took a horrible line to that ball. at the very least that should have been knocked down. way to bring in dempster when it was too late, dusty. :x Neifi was just unlucky. LOL (you were being sarcastic, right?) Of course.
