  1. I've read various accounts that say Marshall thows 88-92 w/ sink. He did top out at 96 in his 2004 season debut in Lansing (temps that game were below 40 degrees).
  2. Andruw Jones 2-run HR! 4-3 Houston. :)
  3. Based on one playoff start for Hudson (and none for Mulder)? Hudson had a much better regular season. Marcus Giles double!
  4. Yikes, now 4-1 Houston. It appears none of the teams I was rooting for in game 1 will win. :(
  5. Gooz has a rough 3rd, gives up 2 ER on 4 H. Of the four hits he gave up, though, 2 were IF singles (2 were line doubles) and he struck out Stephen Drew. Guzman finishes with 4 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 5 K, 0 BB. Buck Coats got a single in his 2nd AB.
  6. Geez, Hudson was all over the place that inning. Meh.
  7. Angel Guzman is starting for Mesa today. EPatt is 1 for 1 with a single, SB and a run. Brandon Sing with a BB.
  8. #10 Cal at #20 UCLA, a battle of undefeateds. Cal sophomore star RB Marshawn Lynch is expected back in the starting lineup after missing a game with injury. Raisin *should* be going to the game out in the Arroyo Seco Valley. Go Bruins!
  9. RHP Chien-Ming Wang (8-5, 4.02 ERA) goes for the Yankees. The Angels counter with the winner of Game 7 of the 2002 World Series, John Lackey (14-5, 3.44 ERA). Raisin will be at the game...GO HALOS!
  10. But do you think it could snowball? Cubs fans grow tired of Sox fans and thier incessant gloating, put more pressure on the franchise to field a winner. How?
  11. The Angels offense isn't that good. Yes they are, they have Vlad. Don't pitch to Vlad and they don't have even a mediocre offense. And I mean REALLY don't pitch to Vlad - you have to heave pitches into the first-base dugout. Most teams give Vlad the Bonds treatment with anyone on base. And I would too with Garrett Anderson and Bengie Molina behind Vlad.
  12. Haha, awesome. The Angels are going to win the World Series based on the ex-Cubs factor. 8)
  13. freakin' excubs! :x So which playoff team has the fewest ex-Cubs? They'll definitely win the Series.
  14. Angels better take game 2, because Raisin will be there.
  15. I don't care what happens as long as the Angels represent the AL (and the Padres the NL). Let's piss off the Dodger fans again, like 2002! :)
  16. Since it's become so trendy to think poorly of Rich Hill's fastball, here's BA's take on his FB:
  17. Here's something to chew on: 1. Felix Pie 2. Angel Guzman - more a comment on the state of the Cubs farm system than anything else 3. Ryan Harvey 4. Mark Pawelek 5. Sean Marshall 6. Carlos Marmol 7. Brandon Sing 8. Rich Hill 9. Brian Dopirak 10. Eric Patterson 11. Sean Gallagher 12. Renyel Pinto 13. Ricky Nolasco 14. Scott Moore 15. Donald Veal Very rough, I probably would change things around if you asked me this tomorrow. I'd have ranked Cedeno 2nd and Murton 4th.
  18. No, I agree with their rankings. I think Pie is below Delmon Young, Hermida, Francoeur, Chris Young, Billingsley, Guzman and LaRoche. I agree about Marshall - I would rank him ahead of Hill, Pinto and Nolasco too. The reason he didn't make this list is because he only threw 25 innings before the injury. The pitcher who didn't make the rankings that surprised me was Carlos Marmol (who I'd rate higher than Pinto or Nolasco).
  19. Wow, that's Dusty-like.
  20. The Angels offense isn't that good. Yes they are, they have Vlad. 7th in the AL in R, 6th in BA, 9th in OBP and SLG, and 11th in OPS. They have a very inconsistent, don't-take-pitches offense. The second highest OPS on the team after Vlad is Bengie Molina's .782.
  21. The Angels offense isn't that good.
  22. Can't disagree with where the Jaxx players were ranked, but I do disagree with Brandon Sing missing the cut. Dang, the SL was loaded. Oh, and I disagree about Chris Young being ranked ahead of Chad Billingsley.
