  1. Actually, Corey didn't focus on baseball till his senior year in HS, the year before the Cubs drafted him, so it's not like he had such a big advantage on Felix. Before that, I believe he spent more time focusing on his WR skills playing football. But the point stands, Felix is very raw. His strike zone awareness is equivalent, if not worse, than Corey's was at AA. And he's much worse on the base paths. But, he put up better overall numbers at AA than Corey. He does need to work on the plate discipline big time (and he's struggled with that with Licey) or else he could meet the same fate as Corey.
  2. Agreed. 3 years would be perfect for Giles.
  3. What he said. Name the last time Hendry traded the best prospect in the organization and got fleeced. (no, the Dontrelle trade does not qualify) Cruz for Pratt? If Juan Cruz is the best prospect in our organization, or if he ever was, then I shudder at the thought of the future of the Cubs. "Two years ago, Juan Cruz ranked with Mark Prior as the top prospects in the Cubs farm system. But Cruz has been unable to claim a spot in Chicago's rotation and the club tired of waiting for him to live up to his potential. On Thursday, the Cubs stopped waiting, trading him and minor league lefthander Steve Smyth to the Braves for two prospects, lefty Andy Pratt and second baseman Richard Lewis." From Baseball America. :| He was also the #6 prospect in ALL OF BASEBALL in 2002 according to BA, ahead of Mark Teixeira and Joe Mauer among others. I am intrigued as to what anyone in Baseball America saw in Cruz. Apart from his impressive first start late in 2001, he never once did anything close to living up to his potential. What they saw was him dominate the minor leagues at a young age with a 95+ mph fastball, a solid changeup and a killer slider. He deserved all the props he got. He hasn't lived up to it, but that doesn't mean they were wrong. Of course that was before Age Gate caught up with Juan.
  4. Those things they wore last Thanksgiving were hideous.
  5. Did you see the numbers Outshined posted? They were ugly.
  6. surely you jest!?! From what I've seen, SAS just states whatever the mainstream media is saying at the time (e.g. OMG PATS R SO GOOD!!!111) and says it with an urban accent. Viewing his ridiculous attire is just a bonus. Quite Frankly, I don't care for him. Stephen A. Smith is the worst thing on television. Hater.
  7. Notice how Von Joshua is spelled V-o-n J-o-s-h-u-a and not C-l-i-n-e-s/S-a-r-g-e Congrats, Atlanta or Texas. You'll get a fixed Corey for cheap!
  8. The Warriors are good this year.
  9. For ESPN standards, getting those last 2 is pretty impressive.
  10. And that is because they shipped him to ESPN2... I was referring to the ESPN umbrella. He's propping up the Deuce. I know. I was just giving your misguided man love the business. Misguided my rear end.
  11. And that is because they shipped him to ESPN2... I was referring to the ESPN umbrella. He's propping up the Deuce.
  12. The only thing ESPN has going for it is Stephen A. Smith.
  13. Mainly my mom and uncle - my mom just told me I couldn't root for the Sox (since my dad was a Sox fan). She actually tried to steer me towards the Dodgers when we moved to LA, but it was too late. I got my family into the Bulls before the 1990s run, they get me into the Cubs. I don't think I got a fair bargain here.
  14. Woo hoo! I'm no longer the new guy!!
  15. You're required to pick Andy Pratt as a keeper.
  16. I wouldn't go that far with Petit since he struggled at AAA in 2005, but yikes, I'd be all over Cameron, Milledge and Petit for Manny. I think it's a fake rumor though, no way the Mets would give up that much for Manny.
  17. Keep in mind the first 7 pages was speculation in regards to this move.
  18. I would hope. Just wait for the contract extensions.
  19. I do. Santana was better than Colon in most categories besides W-L. EDIT: As Slugger points out.
  20. the amusing thing is that hendry said rusch offered things that not a lot of other guys could offer. pretty sure you don't have to look very hard to find a guy capable of a baa under .302 or a whip under 1.57. He offers a 1.57 WHIP and a .302 BAA for more than most pitchers in baseball. The only good that can come from this signing is my new avatar.
