  1. Don't think Wright is a reach there. But I was still reeling a bit seeing Carter right there for the taking and Poles passing on that chance. Have to imagine he wasn't very high on their board. So you could say they get a free pick, which cool, but Poles is gonna be judged hard if Carter becomes a stud. And he'll look smart if Carter flames out of NFL.
  2. I certainly always expect Fields to be a high sack rate guy in the vain of a Russell Wilson (or a Joe Burrow?) But yea, a lot of analytic nerds, especially ones who put zero tape effort in and wanna defend ESPN PRWR to the death have gone way over board with the "sacks are a QB stat" thing. Hey he could be a Kirk Cousins and just throw the ball away at a super high rate but those aren't positive plays. They're just less negative.
  3. Diogenes, welcome to the board and the Bears thread. Just been lurking for 2.5 years?
  4. If they stay at 9 it just better be a premium position. If they trade down then TBD based how far down they go and how board shakes out.
  5. Yea Vegas does seem destined to be a short term destination. Like they'll definitely want a better long term market in 15 years. But I can see why As want to stay closer to current market rather than a cross country trek to the Carolinas. Vegas being more appealing than a few other pacific cities though 🤷‍♂️
  6. Tough few years to be an Oakland sports fan.
  7. That actually sounds like a smart way to do it...
  8. Another example of lack of text contrast : https://northsidebaseball.com/forums/topic/50854-article-tyler-duffey-is-pitching-his-way-back-to-the-majors-with-the-iowa-cubs/ Name/byline basically unreadable.
  9. Multi year tanking is dumb, but they definitely need to blow things up and just try something new. If you somehow get lucky and can S&T Vuc for anything, great. Trade Lavine at high value. Probably Trade DeRozan for whatever. Get some combo of picks and young players. I like some of the types of players they've targeted in the past. Long guys who can defend and play a little position less ball. But need a true PG to replace Ball and then emphasis on shooters. And more of a rim defender. Bring back Ayo and White. Piece together some mid level FA adds and you may have a bit of a backdoor 2024 tank, but should be able to be active again in 2024 FA period. It's been a while since I kept up real in depth with the NBA Cap rules. Will they at some point be eligible for an injury exemption on Balls cap hits?
  10. Just do away with drafts. Soccer up all our sports and have relegation and youth training academys.
  11. Just curious if there is an update for mobile ads? Still getting more than just a footer ad (basically between every post) and I've seen one or two that was a popup style.
  12. I tried posting it in multiple threads to make it easy on the boomers 😂
  13. You may have accidentally changed a filter then. Make sure the read filter is set to "everything"
  14. Yea. I set up my stream day 1 and there's practically no functional difference from the old Active Topics view. https://northsidebaseball.com/discover/14/ Anyone should be able to use that as a baseline and save as defualt on your profile. Then the newspaper icon at top brings you right there. Or create your own to customize what you see on your active feed. But that one should work pretty well if you just don't like change.
  15. Won't really change the readability of half my posts tbh
  16. 2. Certain text colors aren't setup to contrast well. Example attached (the "Old Timey Member" is basically unreadable. Will post more as I see them
  17. 1. On the Gif search bar, it shows as white text in white background
  18. All those runs happened after the second out 😱
  19. Deserves it all for his shitty Fields takes *popcorn gif*
  20. Who cares about some flyer DL. Enemy number 1 of Bears Twitter had... A moment... Tonight...
  21. 53+61 value JJ chart = 28 RH chart = 31 FS (Over the Cap) = 9 (yes it's a big outlier)
  22. I think a lot of the "basic" belief is he just needs to "get stronger", but guys get critiques like that all the time and never do. And this certainly indicates more than just strength. Then there's just the general, "of course progression is always positive and linear" stuff.
  23. Started in FA. And a lot was about Orlando Brown. But now it's turning into all encompassing thing. Of course Olsen is the exception where Gabriel agrees they could have easily fit scheme to player. So by all accounts it's a near total subjective thing that they'll bend when they want, but treat others like dummy's for their opinions. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2023/3/21/23649947/chicago-bears-nfl-draft-scouts-take-the-importance-of-scheme-fit-when-adding-defensive-linemen Also had this blog he contributed to. Where his big example was dropping a few mid 30s DL when Lovie took over.
  24. Bears Twitter on like a week+ straight of arguing about how important scheme fits are or not. And Gabriel more or less being the face of the scheme-fit-only side.
