    I picked up some extra Tribunes and looks like not all my family needs them. If anyone is interested in the paper, and doesnt want to deal with the Trib site, I'd be willing to mail it for the cost of shipping.

    I went to Dicks the night of the NLCS. Didn't do the same for WS. My first pass through on MLBShop I ended up at $539 worth of stuff and my wife said I had to cut it down and ask for the rest for Xmas. I got it down to $137, but may still purge a little more in considerarion of the WS gear I already got at Dicks after the NLCS.

    Hammel is in the rotation for now. Hell, Montgomery would have an innings limit anyway at this point. Use the heck out of first half Hammel and put Monty in a long-relief role. Then trade Hammel at the deadline for the best AA/AAA pitching prospect you can get and slide Monty into the rotation for the second half / playoffs. I really don't think we should expect a mid-season Hammel trade. Definitely not for prospects.

    My lovely wife, bless her heart, did not get upset with me after I purchased $183 worth of t-shirts this morning. Just making up for lost time. The good news is, there IS a shirt that has Kyle Schwarber listed on the team. The bad news is, it's red with blue accent. I've always thought that is too confusing given a Cub/Card rivalry - you'd stick out at Wrigley completely the wrong way. If anyone finds a shirt with Kyle's name on it, pls lmk what page on the MLB WS gear site it's on. Thx! ^ (I can't believe I'm horsefeathering posting about this!!!) Theres a blue Nike one on MLB shop that does show Schwarber, but the same style at Dicks does not.... also a blue Majestic brand on MLB shop has him.

    The shirt isn't bad. The hat is boring. I like both. I dont see the hat they were wearing last night on Dicks website though. They have some other cool options though.

    Well that makes the decision for me. It was definitely the type of shirt I wanted, but hopefully another manufacturer fixes this pronto. Okay so that was the Nike short sleeve shirt at Dicks. MLB shop has a red one that is strictly the WS roster. There is a Nike long sleeve also on MLB shop that has Schwarber (as well as Zastryzny), but still keeps Smith. Then a Majestic one on MLB shop that basically has everyone including Cahill, but no Zastryzny. Eta- best to probably check out any roster shirt in person.

    So after my grandpa passed away a couple years ago, my grandmother wanted a new living room chair because she didn't like his. This wasnt exactly "his chair" that I grew up knowing as his, as he had bought it new when they moved out of their house into a senior living place just a few years prior to that. Still, it was his chair and my wife and I inherited the chair as it was a great basement chair as we wete trying to fill up a new house. You better believe I watched 9 innings from that seat last night. Only in the 10th when I had to pace around was i not sitting there. Would have preferred to have him sitting there in the moment, but trying to carry on his memory was the next best thing.
