Rumors are that Snyder and Chico both want military theme to the name. Redtails seems like such a no brainer if that's the desire, but not surprising at all they they'd go a much more traditional and generic theme like that if so.

Add to that, Jed on ESPN1000 just now: Certainly not "everyone" will be able to watch games on Marquee. Even if they make a last minute deal with YouTube, that still leaves Dish subscribers out. Anyone have glitchy tweet issues. For example a tweet from earlier in the thread loads into a totally different post? I've seen it twice this past week. Tim I took a screenshot, but loading it somewhere to host on the web is kind of a pain, I can just email it to you to show you what I'm talking about if you're curious. -

You've never heard of this? It's about trying to get those subscribers to demand it or leave, as to mount pressure. But how are they supposed to see the ads? Good question. They'd have to buy airtime or ad space where they think they can target Cubs fans/YTTV subscribers. Normally they just plop it on their own channel, but that's when they're negotiating to keep the rights.

If the following was true, this Flood guy is a dummy and NBC is gonna end up settling with JR. There's enough other differences that this would be frivelous otherwise. Of course I could also totally see Roenick basically making that up in his head. -
if i took 35 *swings* my body would crumple into dust Well even at 4 at bats a game, that's max just 12 swings a game, likely less as I'm frozen in fear most of the time. So I could work up to those 35 swings over a few games at least. I'd have to not take BP though to reserve any strength for the ABs, though. At least until like mid season when I've developed some sort of core.

Yes, there are certainly non pro athletes that could muster 35 hits, but if we're talking the average Joe, the median person is only getting on base because an errant pitch was rifled into their ribs.

Biggest thing I remember from that season was rushing home from work and watching Javy's debut in a season where I watched almost no games. A Chicago treasure form day 1.

I wasn't aware of the ability to lock in a specific % of the cap. If that exists, that obviously helps with any downside. Per a few posts after this, guarantees matter a ton as well. If not a lot is guaranteed, he's potentially in a position where they just have endless team options (in effect). Been pretty busy the past few days, but I'll be interested to dig into details. Still, long term contracts are bad if not accompanied with significant guarantees. Eh, for an NFL QB of his level/age/accomplishment he’s going to have to suffer some significant injury or career altering incident for them to ever cut him. Other NFL positions, sure, but as long as he’s a top 12 or so QB under the deal he isn’t getting cut. If he's not cut one of those scenarios is where he is criminally underpaid. Or he becomes too expensive and is cut because the cap flattens and he never sees huge portions of the unguaranteed money. The structure and total guarantees matter A LOT.

The rumors are it’s going to approach $500 mil and they’ll tie it to him getting a % of the cap (I’ve seen 16-18%) so he gets the team/league revenue benefit, why is it dumb to not lock that in? The downside is appreciably higher, imo, going short term and risking injury or whatever and costing yourself $100+ mil than it is to try and pick up a little more money every 3-4 years to maybe make a couple $10 mil more a year over 10 years. Its a cool concept. I wonder if them keeping some of the imagery like that (like the feathers and the face paint by the eye) would not be enough to please those who want to see change. Many many years ago I saw a cool concept on sportslogos.net that was a Blackhawk helicopter concept. I imagine some sort of change womt be too far away for the Hawks. I know they used to have an established relationship with a local Native American advocacy group that kind of deflected some criticism, but sounds like that relationship was terminated and the current director has zero interest in establishing a relationship.

One oft cited rumor I've heard was that Wade and Bosh were set on Chicago, but they pitched to Lebron about teaming up one last time. When he agreed, they went to Miami. This story contradicts that a bit. Chicago with any two of those guys I think ends up better than 2 for 4. Chicago with just Lebron might have as well (plus whatever other guy/guys they would have been able to pair with Lebron that offseason).
