  1. Not big enough IMO. Doesn't seem like they're maximizing revenue at that size. Can we just go full soccer and replace the Indian head logo with the big United U? (that logo is gonna be short lived anyways, let's get ahead of the curve)
  2. Trying to do my best, "compete in 2021 without totally leveraging the future" offseason plan and damn this is tough. Which doesn't give me tons of confidence about what's coming the next 5 months.
  3. I feel like if there's a Phillips announcement it will be of the retirement kind of move and won't be announced right away. I don't know why, I just feel like they'd want to delay it to make clear this is Pace and Nagy's ship to run for 2021 and not make it seem like the President hire is somehow an important part of the football operations.
  4. Part of me wonders if the past two days was Pace pitching a plan for 2021 that didn't require any crazy trades of future assets, extreme contract backloading, or overdrafting a QB. Hopefully it's that or they have a vote of confidence to retool, but had to pitch the retool plan. If its, "win in 2021 at all costs", things are about to get dumb. As to QB, I 100% want one QB drafted, ideally 1st or 2nd round, and within top 100 at least, though if they draft like a 6th rounder I'll just have to latch on and hope they somehow got the next Tom Brady. And then I want a QB drafted in 2022. And 2023, and every year until they fall ass backwards into at least like a Ben Roethlisberger caliber QB. Then they can go to drafting one every 3 to 4 years.
  5. Well I never wavered from the two being in a package deal. So I still prefer this toit having only been one or the other, even if I probably would have gone with a restart. Some questions still remain. Will they have a win now mandate? Might there still be an announcement about Ted Phillips future at a later date?
  6. You're making quite the case for no changes. Eta or fire both and give someone the Belichik/Carroll role. It's at least a differentiator role for a candidate then. Actually that may be the McCaskeys best move. Put all your eggs in one basket rather than having to evaluate some combo of coaching and GMing.
  7. They're definitely behind Jax in both, either way. I suppose where they rank among the rest partially depends on if it's both that are out or just one of Nagy/Pace, and potentially Phillips role as well.
  8. I dont necessarily mind, but I'm also now just impatient and want the slightest scoop haha. Like is it Nagy v Pace in there right now, battling for George's affection? Are they trying to decide what role Ted plays? sometimes a good game of monopoly can take a loooooong horsefeathering time Clearly Champ Kelley has asserted his authority and bought up all the houses and refuses to buy hotels and Pace is arguing how he's ruined the game, but he refused to concede the game and now they're just going turn by turn until Pace has been bled dry becuas he doesn't understand economics.

  10. One of the final hurdles to just admitting they're a minor league development system? Why do people keep suggesting this? You can't tell 18-year-old kids where they are and aren't allowed to go to school. It's a ridiculous concept. Similarly, I've seen cutting football scholarships again as a suggestion, and that's just not going to happen. The optics of yanking 1,300 scholarships (10 x 130 FBS schools) overnight are awful, and even if the NCAA mandated those 10 scholarships go to other sports instead, it's just not going to get through the court of public opinion. I don't think it's a realistic proposal, but I think if the Ncaa wanted to get behind it, they'd get it over the public opinion hump. So I'd say them not wanting to just become a minor league is the hurdle.

  12. I don't believe there have been many rumors on that Phillips story. There was a tweet from some rando that got some play but I have not seen much of anything suggesting it's on the table, let alone imminent. It should happen, but I'm more just hoping than reading the tea leaves. Also, Pace would need an extension to get 2 more years on his contract, not sure if you were just implying that would happen. Well there was some rumors Pace did get said extension, though it was walked back. But about the same amount of smoke as any Phillips rumor.
  13. Why does anything need to happen? They've a horsefeathers of excuses to retain the status quo besides the customary we tried real hard, made the playoffs, excuses for being terrible end of season press conference what more is necessary? Something needs to happen, bare minimum you'd expect coordinator turnover. I think best case is Philips retires and they announce a big president name. More likely they'd conduct a search. I'd be stunned if they announced any new hires today. And yea I think realistically if they replace Phillips, it will be a longish search, perhaps going into the summer (unless it's been known for some time and they've been doing background work without it leaking).
  14. The beats guys seemed suspiciously quiet yesterday. Waiting for some shoe to drop, it feels like.
  15. Marc Trestman. Lure Cutler out of retirement. Lfg.
  16. Bienemy isn't going anywhere. Apparently bad in interviews and some off field concerns. Only teams that likely would want him are Atlanta and maybe LAChargers. Sent from my SM-A115AZ using Tapatalk I hadn't heard about off field concerns before. One article I found mentions a few things from his college years and a DUI from like 2001. Is there more than that?
  17. Option 1. Luck into a superstar QB, never let him go, and build a well rounded team every year. Option 2. Cycle through rookie scale QBs and alternate recurring cycles of elite Ds with strong offense supporting casts with the occasional blow up/reset offseason. So basically pursue option 2, but it you get supremely lucky, divert plans to option 1.
  18. Probably not, or maybe once when it first became a thing. You can still trade his rights, right? Yes. Though I think it has to be by a certain date? Trade idea. A tagged Robinson and a 5th for Darnold and their 23rd overall (this presumes they go Fields obviously).
  19. I bet they can get a day 3 pick out of him. So it's exactly the time to walk, because you don't wanna overpay to extend him on some 5-8m/year deal after 2021.
  20. Serious question. Has a team ever actually gotten the 2 pick comp from a franchise tag? If you want some comp, let him walk and get a third on 2022. If you are desperate for talent, I'd say reconsider for 2021 (though obviously thats my head space which isn't likely to be Paces if he's the one calling the shots still).
  21. I think you have to franchise Robinson. Why?
  22. Looking at news articles, looks like Fox, Treastman, and Emery were all Monday firings. Too lazy to research the others.
