    I'm just guessing, but this was probably Lou's call. I don't get the feeling that he likes Murton at all (despite his glowing comments during ST).

    Counting stats?....especially the bolded? Besides, his HR total was just about at his career average. And he missed plenty of games due to injury.

    I agree with the sentiment in your post. The blackouts are a joke, but no way in hell can that be a 10 hour drive. It takes me 10 hours to do Chicago to Atlanta, and I'm positive that Memphis is quite a bit closer to Cincy than that.

    i'm not so sure... 2004: 687 PA, 168 K (24.5% K/PA) 2005: 481 PA, 118 K (24.5% K/PA) 2006: 498 PA, 94 K (18.9% K/PA) 2007: 503 PA, 65 K (12.9% K/PA) So? Whether it's strikeouts, pop outs or ground outs, he still makes the same amount of them. Last year he struck out almost 30 times less than 2006 in only two less at bats and his OBP still dropped. Dude you were just proven wrong, give up already. What? No he wasn't. Even though Corey's strikeouts have dropped he is still getting on base at the same low rate LOL Come on, roast. You should know better.

    I meant vouch (I think people got that). But sadly, I was on a loptop, with no autocorrect. The worst part, it took me a solid 3 minutes on dictionary.com to figure out that there is no "g" in the word at all, and that I have been pronouncing it wrong my entire life. Awesome. Wait, you've been pronouncing "vouch" with a G? I'm really curious as to what this sounded like. I'm guessing the way he spelled it.. vow-je (attempt at phonetic spelling)

    You're right. It was a coincidence that they were two of top pitchers in terms of pitcher abuse points under Dusty, that Dusty has a tendency to abuse young arms, and that their arms almost fell off. Or not.

    Bruce is where he belongs right now, and Bako (who has a .481 OBP) is on the roster because Ross is hurt. You know better than to cite 10 days worth of stats. Especially when it's Paul Bako and his near .500 OBP.

    If I remember correctly, Drew wound up catching a foul ball that (obviously) wouldn't have scored a run if he had let it drop. But it was really close to the line.

    I doubt that Corey Patterson continues his pace and I am sure Dusty will make enough bad decisions that we won't have to worry about them too much. Their rotation looks pretty good, and there offense always does. Dusty's negative effect might not show itself as much until later on. Like when those pitchers get hurt and when he has more of an influence on their overall roster.
