  1. I sure wish we had Neifi taking that role and making a couple million dollars.
  2. What the hell do you people expect from the backup SS who is also the last guy off the bench?
  3. I'm more angry than usual this game because of the umpiring and the missed scoring opportunities. Serenity now
  4. Now we'll score 3 runs and lose 5-4 just to piss me off.
  5. hehe Pittsburg, right. Maybe Zambrano will pitch well tommorow, 3 of 4 would be great. I figured 2 of 4 would be good in this series anyway. Isn't Zambrano being skipped tomorrow?? Hadnt heard that, that would truely stink, who would be pitching Marquis? Id have no faith in him against this Philly offense. That wouldn't stink. That would be great, because he needs rest and the Cubs have a fairly comfortable lead. I don't see how it would be Marquis, after he just went on Wednesday. It would be Marshall, I'm guessing.
  6. It's really not. Those were freaking balls. According to the umps zone, those were strikes. Once he found the corner of the umps strike zone, hes been consistantly hitting that spot all game. If the zone was 2 inches more inside, he'd have probably found a way to hit that too. That's complete BS.. Ump's zone? It's the same bullcrap that went on with the Braves throughout the 90s then. If it were two inches more inside they would've been hittable pitches.

  8. Really? I mean I expect it to obviously be a huge losing record, but only 2 wins all year seems low.

  10. I know you guys were being tongue in cheek, but this is a good thing. It was obvious that Z had a tired arm. It's been obvious for a while. It's good news that they're finally going to do something about it. Hell, I'd skip him twice if we maintained this lead in the meantime.
  11. Z has a tired arm and will skip tomorrow's start per Lou per a post in today's game thread.
  12. Over/Under on the number of names Stockton mispronounces will be set at 2.5. Do I have any takers? Over I'll even predict which ones he'll screw up.... Theriot Fukudome and then some random guy he'll not mispronounce but say a completely different name (i.e. Adolfo and whatever it was he called Aramis in the playoffs last year.... was it Rodriguez?)
  13. Given our chances, I don't think I'd want to put a HUGE amount on it... but I'd put a decent amount. Yay for subjective terms
  14. No reason to hate agreeing with me. :D
  15. in the playoffs and placing some bets against the Cubs in each series. Odds should pay out decent for betting against since we'll be favorites in any of the first two series. If we won it'd be like I paid for the victory, and if we lost the winnings would soften the blow somewhat. Thoughts? I almost did this in 03, but I was too young and couldn't figure out how to do it online in time...
  16. I hate the Brewers far more than the Cardinals.
  17. Gagne presently holds the record in this stat from his 2003 season, apparently.
  18. I can't lie. That's kinda good.
  19. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-080829cubs-bidders,1,6727468.story Oddly, they almost brush over Cuban as a bidder altogether. I had to look to find mention of him, which was surprising enough, given the fact that we had heard he was the high bidder.
  20. Starting to accept? A little late much?
  21. FWIW, the Phillies were pretty lucky to score their second run.
  22. McClouth with a solo shot 3-1 Brewers Pirates have stranded a bunch of baserunners
