I'd imagine the story about a family matter is the Cubs' story to cover for Z. The truth is probably somewhere in the Jesse Rogers story. FWIW, none of us actually heard what Rogers reported last night, so what he said today might actually be what he said last night and the poster who put it on that message board just got it slightly wrong. Either way, the idea is that he missed it because he thinks he doesn't need it/doesn't want to miss two starts because of the dye. I'm guessing that the stuff about him not wanting to know what it is if something is wrong was speculation by Mully and Hanley, but I didn't hear it. Let's just keep our fingers crossed about the MRI results and hope they shut him down for 2-3 weeks.
They should sprinkle that magic powder on his hand that regrew that other guy's fingertips from North Carolina. Seriously, the medical advancements we're going to see in our lifetimes because of stem cell research is going to be amazing (don't remember if that powder was stem cell related.. I think it was from a pig or something, anyone know what I'm talking about?)
If we find out it's just the dead arm and he'll be fine with some rest, it will feel like the 5 game losing streak never happened. Again, I don't care what it is and how much of the regular season he misses. I just want him back and at full strength for the playoffs. I feel exactly the same way. I would hope just about everyone here does.
If they blow it this season, it would be absolutely devastating. Take solace in the fact that that's very, very, VERY unlikely, though, no matter how pathetically they've played over the past 5 or 6 days.
At 10:30? I want your schedule. haha, no, i'm just sacrificing sleep... i do that a lot. be it for the gym or drinking or whatever else. daytime david is a miserable person for it.
Does listening to ridiculous outrage like this help you guys vent? I'm honestly trying to understand why people listen to that stuff. I mean, I'm pissed off about the loss. I'm probably going to the gym to play some basketball and work it off. Listening to pissed off people ranting would just make me more pissed off.
I know Shark started in Iowa, and he hasn't been up for very long, but is his arm still stretched out to where he could go 5-7 innings without hurting himself? After a month, I doubt it. I doubt he'd be very effective at it either, at this point. I'd rather stick with Lieber (vs. any team without great lefties) and/or Marshall at this point.
How can you guys subject yourself to listening to people flying off the handle for no reason? Serious question. Let's get all outraged about sports because that'll solve something....but everything'll be OK when we win the next game!!! It's especially bad because 99% of the callers usually do not know baseball very well.
What's amazing is I'm pretty sure our odds have improved the last couple days just by virtue of knocking a day off the calendar. Not that it's ok for them to lose all the time, but it is funny given what's going on.
Yea, that really means nothing in terms of the 2008 Cubs. Hell, the 2005 White Sox have nothing to do with the 2008 Cubs either, for that matter, but people need to find comfort in different ways. That's cool.
Oh joy How are your Brewers doing, Sulley? Seriously, don't bother. I got fooled last time but no matter how convincing he is, I won't get fooled again.
See: 2007 NLDS Cubs v DBacks More relevantly, see 2008 Cubs immediately after the All Star break. They slumped badly then, and then quickly proceeded to completely dominate their way to the best record in baseball. Every team slumps, even the best ones. They'll eventually get out of it, and go back to being a great team. Seriously. Realistic Mizzou and UMFan. That's that ish right there.
It's a "crappy" start according to some. At the time it was WHAT?!? Please explain because this makes no sense to me He's saying that in 5 innings, 3 ER was crappy... in 7 innings, it's a bit better.
