  1. lol at Levine just saying that Z's never been on the DL I get his point, but yea
  2. huh? All I'm saying is, if Z isn't 100%, which he probably won't be, is that still better than Lilly when it comes to the NLDS? The NLDS is a month away. Since there appears to be nothing structurally wrong beyond inflammation, there's plenty of time for him to rest his shoulder and heal up. What I am not totally happy about is the seeming indication that they're going to skip him once and be done with it.
  3. Or just rest him (and treat him) and let that inflammation subside.
  4. Looks like they gave him a special MRI that didn't require the dye injections. From a sound bite I just heard from Hendry, they injected him with some anti-inflammatories (cortisone I'm guessing?)
  5. hahahah wow media is awesome
  6. I'll come out and admit that I wanted to buy tickets to as many games as possible and go to them with my friends. AND I'll come out and say that I don't think any less of Mizzou for trying to sell tickets. This. I didn't sell any of the 8 playoff tickets I got last year. But I have sold tickets to games and see absolutely NOTHING wrong with making a profit off an asset that is in GREAT demand.
  7. Not really, but OK. Go read some newspaper articles about baseball and tell me any of them (with FEW exceptions) are worth a crap. The mainstream sports/baseball media is still dominated by archaic thinking and sensationalism.
  8. The same could be said about just about any "work" that involves using a computer. It takes complete focus & attention, some effort, and knowing what you're doing. It's not exactly easy.
  9. How about this... take a day off and work some crazy high paying odd jobs to buy tickets on StubHub... Then we'll see who REALLY wants to go.
  10. ...meanwhile, the Trib still doesn't have the story. Sun Times beat them to the punch by quite a bit on this one.
  11. Because it's not serious. The media just loves to run with things. Harden + discomfort = instant story. Giving him an unnecessary MRI would just cause him pain and cause him to miss more time.
  12. Am I crazy or would the Houston series = only missing one start... I'd sure rather wait a little and have him get about two tune-up starts in before the playoffs.
  13. Let's change the thread title with this latest encouraging information...
  14. Yes. Mainstream, at least. The great thing about the internet is that it's made better sources (and worse, obviously) of information available to everyone. Would this whole baseball enlightenment period have ever moved as much as it has without it?
  15. Same here. I never read the paper when they are losing. just pisses me off more. Same goes for sports radio. Sometimes I give in and listen on my drives, but I always regret it when the moron brigade starts calling in
  16. I also don't get why some people are so offended by people's facial expressions. Some people make a face that resembles a smile when they're expressing frustration. I do it. Lots of athletes do it. Lots of people do it. Is he supposed to force a frown or something? I've seen people make the same comments about Grossman when he makes a dumb play or something and it baffles me. I mean, obviously you don't think he's expressing happiness or that he's thinking it's funny, right? Seriously...wtf?
  17. Why are you reading it? I haven't looked at the papers since Sunday or Saturday...
  18. I'm surprised that people are acting like it's some amazing new revelation that Zambrano is an a-hole.
  19. During the press conferences he does. Do you think THAT goes over well with teammates? lol seriously?
  20. Well people work for other reasons than disposable income. But you're talking about taking a day off and that real fans should take a day off... So only real fans who have extra vacation or sick days should be able to go to the playoffs?
  21. BTW, smiles when he messes up? wtf? That's the last way I'd describe Z's actions when he screws up.
  22. This is a non-story. Were people really under the impression that these 25 guys were all friends? There's bound to be guys who don't like other guys. They didn't choose each other as teammates.
  23. I signed up for the season ticket list like 5-6 years ago in hopes that I'd get called upon at a point in my life where I'd be able to afford them... I checked like a year ago and I think I moved up 3 spots.
  24. Couldn't you just work that day (or maybe it's two days for some, whatever) and maybe make enough to buy the tickets on the secondary market...
  25. The "clearly the ace of this staff" line is pretty funny, especially given all the talk there had been lately.
