  1. I placed a $15 parlay on the Cubs, Rays, and DBacks winning tonight. Pays like $115+15 if it hits. Get the first part done, Cobs.
  2. I don't understand how someone can come up with something like this out of complete thin air. You're basing this on his numbers?? I mean, you make it sound like you've just sat down and had a heart to heart and a beer with the guy.
  3. Carlos should stay in the role he's in because that's more valuable than closer. Actually, it would be best if they just used him in the highest leverage situations, regardless of inning (i.e. one run "saves", runners on in the 7th in a 1 or 2 run game, whatever), but that'll never happen. I'd rather not waste Marmol with a 2 or 3 run lead and nobody on for a good bulk of his appearances.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73p_crpJ6pU Looks like a TBS playoff promo featuring Bon Jovi doing "I Love This Town." You can see them in the outtakes, but I didn't notice them in the actual video. Then again, I didn't watch all that closely.
  5. No greenies. Why is it only affecting the good teams?
  6. Has anyone noticed the DRays sucking lately? A lot of contenders have decided to take a crap all at once for whatever reason.
  7. The Brewers will make the playoffs.
  8. Just sign a real corner OF bat and take whatever you get from Fuku in CF next year.
  9. Because he's had a low BA and people still don't know how to look past that.
  10. Hasn't Edmonds been pretty good despite his low BA recently?
  11. A Phillies sweep could do some real damage to the Brewers playoff hopes in general, depending on what NY does.
  12. lol wat
  13. haha i just saw what happened awesome
  14. UM isn't a Cubs pessimist anymore.
  15. Forte-Jones could be an upgrade over Jones-Benson...but that certainly remains to be seen long term. To me, the TEs and RBs are an upgrade over that team, while I don't see how 08 Orton is an upgrade over 06 Grossman, but I suppose we'll see. The rest of the defense is two years older, but at least, for now, we have the *hope* of Mike Brown and Tommie Harris for a full season, and we have Dusty, too. Also, going into that season, the WR core was considered a major weakness also. Nobody expected Berrian to emerge like that and I think his emergence was more of a product of Grossman looking to him and hitting him on all those deep balls early in the season. It's not like he was this stud receiver. There are a couple guys on this WR corps that are probably pretty comparable to Berrian as a receiver.
  16. i just assumed that colts fans were doing the cheering because they don't know what's going on. I thought that too. Earlier, when Forte scored a TD, there was a lot of cheering. A WTF moment for me. I'm way late on this, but I'm guessing a lot of people made their way from Cincy after today's Cubs game to the Bears game. The trip takes you right through Indianapolis and the timing was perfect. Would be an easy thing to plan out. There were lots and lots of Cubs fans in Cincy...the souvenir stands outside the park were selling more Cubs stuff than Reds stuff. And the interstate was like a literal convoy after the game.
  17. Looking forward to seeing Moose get knocked the hell around.
  18. I was driving back from Cincy during the game, so I watched this on Tivo. Awesome. Makes me look at today as a good day... knocked a game off the magic number and the Bears suddenly have decent a shot at a 3-0 start (not to get ahead of ourselves... just saying... one game, especially one that was inked in as a loss, makes a big difference)... Anyway, Forte looked really good. Wow. I liked Marcus Harrison a lot. I don't have much in depth to say...but Mike Brown plays and our run defense looks dominant again, what a surprise... Orton looked decent enough. Still not a fan of his long windup (or the neck-beard, for that matter), but he played fairly well. Maybe the offensive line will wind up looking a little better if Williams manages to come back in a couple months.
  19. Huh? If you people are gonna doom and gloom it, at least get the numbers right. haha wow
