  1. if you're gonna do that you might as well just do the reddit streams
  2. Ballsy move when DirecTV is out there available for the whole country.
  3. Just a bang up job partnering with the company whose channels are getting yanked left and right. It's RSNs in general. Dish Network is going away from them too. I have a feeling this will be bad for those companies though. Not having live sports is going to be a serious limiter of their market. For my money, whatever benefits are being talked about of YouTube TV over Hulu Live are overwhelmingly outweighed by their decision not to carry a huge number (or all?) of RSNs. The Sinclair partnership (gross political ties aside) has worked out as well as it could for them and got them in the door as far as distribution goes.
  4. 4.1 WAR as a leadoff man with un less juiced ball is about all we might expect. WAR doesn't care where you bat in the order and the de-juiced ball applies to everyone, not just Bryant. if anything, you could argue that hitting leadoff would allow him to accrue SLIGHTLY more WAR by function of the marginally higher plate appearances/opportunities. it's fairly negligible compared to his previous spot in the order, of course. and that's without even getting into the juiced ball part, where it's arguable that the juiced ball affected different players in different ways and may have actually hurt some players more than it helped them relative to the rest of the league.
  5. Amazing. I was going to make a post the other day about how its strange that we haven't heard a peep about Russell signing anywhere, even as a minor league FA. Figured some horsefeathers team out there would take a chance on him. But then I though 'horsefeathers Addison Russell, he doesnt deserve any more discussion here' I think you'd be more likely to see him end up in Japan or something.
  6. assuming i'm right about what you're talking about, people actually like this?
  7. It appears every DirecTV subscriber is getting that message out of market, and some in market (even if they have the right package). From what I've gathered Marquee isn't going to be national on DirecTV in the sports package. I have no clue but I imagine that's probably a different negotiation/agreement and maybe they want to get all the local providers wrapped up first. They are in Iowa so they should be in market I believe. I'll tell them they'll need to call in and start complaining and see if it goes anywhere. Thanks a lot of people seem to be having luck with refreshing their service https://twitter.com/TLAM213/status/1232167605227618307?s=20 so if they really are in market this should work...i think?
  8. carr is pretty good (averageish starter), would be a huge upgrade, and (i hate this line because it's such a low bar) would immediately be the best qb the bears have ever had. i loved cutler too but he flat out turned the ball over too much. That’s just wrong i don't even see how it's up for debate tbh i'm assuming you're referring to the cutler part, and if i'm wrong, nevermind. what is the argument for cutler being better?
  9. isn't the situation exactly the same for you as it has been every year? no. I get NBCSC ahh right so the ancillary programming. fair enough. i think they'll still be covering the cubs. :dontknow:
  10. It appears every DirecTV subscriber is getting that message out of market, and some in market (even if they have the right package). From what I've gathered Marquee isn't going to be national on DirecTV in the sports package. I have no clue but I imagine that's probably a different negotiation/agreement and maybe they want to get all the local providers wrapped up first. they are so bad at this but I do like that they are making it easier for me to ignore them this season isn't the situation exactly the same for you as it has been every year?
  11. I mean I wouldn't look at the current status of it as anything more than a soft launch anyway, but I wasn't expecting much more than this. once we're into the real games it should feel more complete.
  12. What DirecTV package do you have? I have Choice, DirecTV tells me that Marquee is included in the Choice package, but I get a message like I need to pay for it. DirecTV is telling me the problem is on Marquee's end. That makes no sense.
  13. Also, Carr isn't very good carr is pretty good (averageish starter), would be a huge upgrade, and (i hate this line because it's such a low bar) would immediately be the best qb the bears have ever had. i loved cutler too but he flat out turned the ball over too much.
  14. Apparently this was MLB Network produced and based on a fan vote that happened who knows where/when
  15. i take that back (from my last post). i feel like i'm watching TWIB - cubs style basically.
  16. so this is actually pretty good aside from the cheesy background music (it's got like a chicago's best kind of production style) that segment where he and rizzo discussed playing 1b was actually good, and im a grace hater of course, i'm sure this stuff will run ad nauseam and won't be nearly as interesting after i've seen it 100x
  17. i just said almost the exact same thing verbatim lmao
  18. I don't see it either. I believe the network doesn't go live until noon though, so it'll likely show up then. Showing up for me now, looks like it launches at 1 pm though, not noon. Yep. It's on there for me too. They have a "coming soon" screen up.
  19. Along with Longs retirememt that puts them at about 25m in cap. Still not a lot, around bottom 10. They could still free up some more, most notably Floyd's 13M. And extend ARob.
  20. https://theathletic.com/1615246/2020/02/17/hulu-is-on-board-with-marquee-but-cubs-are-still-waiting-on-comcast-and-tv-bounce-for-baseball-ops/
  21. I think that's gotta be just poor wording on the answer (since the original question was about game broadcasts)
  22. yeah they haven't had sports on the superstation for a long time.
  23. it amazes me how many people are acting like the blackout rules have anything to do with this. like, the blackout rules have been very dumb for a very long time, but it's got absolutely nothing to do with this channel. i suppose a lot of it, ironically, is just confusion from the fact that people can get the channel pretty much anywhere even though the games will be blacked out.
