  1. Did that land on the rooftop? I don't think I saw it come down
  2. How are we feeling about lackey's ex wife today?
  3. Hawk left the booth mid broadcast to check on Frazier after he smashed his face lmaoooooooo
  4. yeah...anthony davis embracing his [expletive] up teeth and eyebrow is so weird to me even strahan...i guess maybe they were so cool and popular since they were so amazing at sports growing up that they never developed insecurities about that stuff. For some reason, I can kinda understand the brow, just because it's so weird and stigmatized. It doesn't surprise me that there is at least one celeb out there that decided to flaunt it. Bad teeth are just gross, though. the first time i noticed his teeth i had actual nightmares
  5. yeah...anthony davis embracing his fucked up teeth and eyebrow is so weird to me even strahan...i guess maybe they were so cool and popular since they were so amazing at sports growing up that they never developed insecurities about that stuff.
  6. His karma sucks. or his mojo, if you will
  7. if we lose tonight i'm going to go full blown game thread meatball. i have absurdly irrationally high expectations of this team.
  8. Is La Stella sick or nursing an injury? With a RH starting this game and a LH starting game 2, I figured he'd at least start this one. maddon loaded the lineup with righties for rea because he's a reverse split guy i know lastella was supposed to be on deck to PH in the 8th, iirc.
  9. i don't understand this feeling. what is this?
  10. ugh that disgusts me. stop that. don't do that to me.
  11. Right, but the Cubs sitting their good guys and not playing them gives another team a better chance to beat us considering a [expletive] team has less guys to sit that will hurt them. Right, and the Cubs have a better bench so their bench players starting will be better than the Padres bench players starting, and the Cubs have a better bullpen so more of our bullpen pitchers pitching will be better than their bullpen and if you try and do that thing where you point to Strop and Ramirez today to refute this, just....don't. which, if anything, would just mean "doubleheaders are a little harder to sweep for the inferior teams with less depth (and therefore easier to sweep for the better team with more depth)." which isn't exactly a groundbreaking idea.
  12. go find me proof that double headers are swept less often than any two consecutive baseball games. until then, i'm not wasting time debating this. Oh, so you don't know either it sounds like. no, i'm putting the onus on you to prove (or at the very least, provide any evidence) that an effect you are positing exists actually exists.
  13. yes i'm sure about that I don't think you should be, is what I'm saying. It's not impossible to win a doubleheader and it happens of course, but there are definitely things that make it more difficult than winning on back to back days. go find me proof that double headers are swept less often than any two consecutive baseball games. until then, i'm not wasting time debating this.
  14. well it's hard to sweep a double header, so that should give us a nice edge.
  15. I don't know that I'd call it "irrational" i'm not one to care much at all about lineup construction as long as dusty baker isn't doing it
  16. this isn't a thing and has nothing to do with how this game will play out it's no harder than winning any two consecutive games You sure about that? Often you aren't starting the lineup you'd be able to start if it was back-to-back days rather than on both and you also are dealing with bullpen choices you might not normally have to deal with. I imagine it is harder. yes i'm sure about that
  17. i have a sudden irrational desire to join the move heyward down brigade.
  18. assuming you mean heyward, i'm just hoping for a walk. that's fairly realistic.
  19. this isn't a thing and has nothing to do with how this game will play out it's no harder than winning any two consecutive games
  20. i swear any time there's a ball hit to right field and it's at all possible there is a catch, i just assume it's going to be caught
  21. giving up dongs with runners on with two strike meatballs like we have the last two days fills me with an irrational amount of rage
  22. does heyward ever not make that play?
