  1. maybe theyll start a new thread about how many articles are up about them in the tribune tomorrow
  2. Well, I was pretty excited about our interior Oline after the draft. Ramirez was basically the second swing backup then. Now Grasu is an injury away from starting again. Let's hope he had a great offseason. it sounds like grasu is seen as the starter at C right now
  3. Apparently Manny Ramirez retired last night http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-bears-manny-ramirez-retire-spt-20160608-story.html
  4. Yeah, and there are some posters who can take the ribbing and there are others who turn into insane people. The latter are pretty entertaining though.
  5. nah, he's right baseball has lots of losses. this team is amazing and there are no crucial games at this point so i have little recollection or care for any individual loss, no matter the circumstances. you should try it.
  6. New or not you couldn't be more right. This is not a forum open to new users, they run most of them off very quickly and when it's pointed out they very quickly show you why/how they have run them off. If your ideas don't completely lineup with the status quo here your very likely to be repeatedly treated "poorly" and openly mocked. I hang around because there are a few posters who's opinions I value and I get a lot of joy out of ruffling the feathers of the rest of the guys here because it's highly entertaining to watch the responses, predictable as they are. And what, exactly, do you think the "status quo" is here? And the lack of self-awareness in the bold is...kind of amazing. Yeah, that's horsefeathering hysterical. This dude has an epic meltdown for every like 5 posts he makes.
  7. I've seen new posters get slaughtered on here for making points you guys felt were silly. That's not conducive towards increasing forum activity. New or not you couldn't be more right. Is it not obvious that it has nothing to do with new or old but the things that are being posted by said posters? StylesClash isn't new. You are not new. Duke has written more (very good) words for the front page than probably everyone ever combined and has been here less than two years. PetermanRealityTour seems like a swell dude, has an awesome name, and signed up sometime late last season. There are a lot of relatively smart baseball fans here and if someone comes in and says things that are misguided or wrong they will either be open to learning new stuff and find a lot of good information here, or they'll be aggressive, defensive, and argumentative and then they will get horsefeathers on pretty hard. This applies to old and new posters.
  8. What the what. I want to punch this post so badly. I don't even have any idea what that May 24th game is. And I'm not gonna pull up Baseball Reference to find out.
  9. to be fair, that's because a lot of those shutouts are being won by several runs and thus are being protected by the crappiest part of our bullpen
  10. update [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. lackey did something that resulted in a fielder's choice with montero out at home and then fowler GIDP
  12. ...we scored 6 runs the game before last, vinestal
  13. And those types of throws are why I liked sending Zobrist better than counting on Ross
  14. You say tomato...
  15. Highlighting was fine :dontknow:
  16. i love schwarber but there are a lot more guys i'd trade him for beyond that list A lot? There are definitely guys beyond those 3, but the list isn't super long, but with no emotional attachment I might have a different story. His ceiling to me is still a 40 HR .900 OPS guy with average defense which should be like 6-7 WAR. My guess is his floor is probably more of a 25 HR .775 OPS 2 win guy. I could be wrong though off the top of my head Trout Machado Harper Bogaerts Syndergaard Fernandez Sale Seager Betts Correa Mazara maybe JBJ I'm kind of tired of listing guys but I'm sure there are more
  17. Don't really have a problem with him hitting ahead of those two guys. It's not completely ridiculous or anything but Baez at least is clearly a better hitter. Montero was until he injured his back. AKA I am not particularly high on Almora the hitter (although using nothing but B-R to form my opinion) and hope to be proven wrong. I'm not certain about that at all. Montero is the one I was iffy on.
  18. You've seen this young man Schwarber hit a baseball? I have been savoring every last moment of this glorious season so far but I still feel a pang when I imagine the lineup card with that monster in it. Unless it's Machado/Harper/Trout, I don't want him going anywhere. i love schwarber but there are a lot more guys i'd trade him for beyond that list
