It's more concerning to me when the staff ace fails to pitch past the 6th inning in 6 of his last 7 starts than the offense having a bad game. He's either going to figure it out by the end of the year (I lean to this side) and get closer to his old self or he's not. It's not worth worrying about because there's nothing we can do about it. At least he's not hurt, so there's a decent enough chance he'll rebound. And bringing up the Chapman trade like the cost for the type of starter it would take to actually upgrade this rotation is even like 1/10 of that is pretty dumb too. Maybe if there were any of that type of pitcher available as a rental, but the pitchers out there worth going after are either on contending teams or under control for a long time and going to cost a lot more than Chapman did. A hell of a lot more. -

what's weird is our offense has scored nothing against a scrub pitcher and people's choice to be reactionary is about a need for a starter after arrieta gives up a 2 out homer to a guy with 28 home runs in a band box of a park. just so happens to be the inning he struggled a bit and gave up a couple baserunners. could easily be working on 6 innings of one run ball. YAY JAVY!
