    Him and Mike Murphy are like roaches, they somehow continue to exist in the sports media world. I always do a double take when I hear Murphy's voice on ESPN 1000 on the weekends. it's kind of amazing thinking back and knowing mike murphy had a regular permanent midday show in chicago. like, what?

    This has come up a few times on here re: Sale. Going into the season (going as far back as Sox Fest), Sale (much like Arrieta) and Cooper talked about him setting out to pitch to contact more this season, so this would obviously follow from that. Whether you believe that to be the primary reason or not (and therefore just a decline in performance) is up for debate. It hasn't really helped him go much deeper into games, though. His velo is down from last year but right in line with the rest of his career as a starter.

    too bad ramirez retired too. i remember thinking we had a lot of depth in the interior. then slauson got dumped and ramirez retired. grasu kind of sucked and i didn't expect him to be good this year (although he, of course, might've) so it's not that big a loss as long as we can get someone serviceable in there.
