    The Cubs traded him in November. I agree though, despite this Z is cool and was my favorite player for most of the 00s Damn was it only November? I thought Theo pretended to give him a chance to make amends or whatever for longer than that.

    if i remember correctly (which i easily might not) i think we traded down after mcnabb got taken (since that's who we really wanted)...does that sound right?

    he actually hasn't been bad outside of his ERA...high BABIP allowed. tons of Ks. anyway, not really related but this actually reminded me of something. i remember thinking kerry wood's minor league numbers looked kinda crappy (this was based mostly on ERA) and i remember seeing the argument made on the cubs newsgroups that he was so nasty that minor league umps just couldn't call his stuff. well i just looked at his minor league numbers for probably the first time since then, and holy horsefeathers did he walk a ton of guys throughout the minors. he was much better in the big leagues from day one (and through pretty much his whole career) than he was in the minors. i wonder if there wasn't some truth to that theory, then.

    I remember when that trade happened I was mildy excited because I had heard of him. Looking at his pre-Bears numbers now, what the [expletive] were we thinking? And then we tried to follow that up by using another 1st on Cade McNown who was an even bigger bust. i don't think cade was an even bigger bust
