  1. Game 2 vs 3 doesn't really matter does it? Only gonna start 1 game regardless. Really comes down to who do you want starting 2 games in the DS if it comes to it. I'd lean Lester with that with how great he's been. i mean it doesn't matter much. just the prospect of being 0-1 and how much you think it matters at that point.
  2. serious question if true and obvious god mode jake shows up today and in his last start, do you consider pitching him in game 1 or 2?
  3. louis vuitton belt buckle too
  4. i just realized what it says after (Te Amo Pipi) noun
  5. ok guys rather than see these go unused i'm offering them up on the price of on the house. if i could leave work early, i'd be using em, but i can't today. THIS IS NOT A DRILL - FREE GOOD SEATS TO CUBS/CARDINALS AND ARRIETA PM me if you can make it. i can email PDFs over as long as you have the means to print em.
  6. in a weird meta way i want to make fun of you for not knowing most of us wouldn't know who the hell those guys were either (well, i'm sure the minor league forum nerds know who the pitcher is)
  7. guessing the young dude is the minor league pitcher of the year and the other guy appears to be andrew berlin, the owner of the south bend cubs
  8. Soler's shirt is amazing It says Happy Father Day (Te Amo Pipi) (can't make out what else) 1. I Love you so much Daddy 2. Mi Daddy is the best 3. Soler power
  9. on a similar note, when you referred to "tampering expectations" on twitter, what's the inside joke? Touche.... tempering expectations, obviously. well you put it in quotes so you have plausible deniability
  10. it looks like hoyer is advising our minor league instruction on fashion choices
  11. mistype, here's proof of me using it correctly in the past (strangely also about Strop) viewtopic.php?f=2&t=851&p=80645&hilit=intact#p80645 Fair enough. Proceed. on a similar note, when you referred to "tampering expectations" on twitter, what's the inside joke?
  12. agree to be clear, when i used toss up, i meant actual toss up in that the teams are closely matched. not a toss up in the every playoff series is a toss up sense, obviously.
  13. 100% agreeance with this entire post. I wanted no part of SF and thought we got lucky that the Marlins beat them. Also I wanted us to get HFA

  15. i remember rooting for the marlins and thinking they were a pushover after we beat atlanta and the way we were pitching and the way we played down the stretch. thought they fluked their way into where they were. looking back, my hubris was misguided and it was definitely reasonable to look at it as a toss up. i didn't fear the mets at all last year. i'm obviously well aware that anything can happen in a playoff series but i didn't expect the type of beatdown we got. still crazy looking back at how absurdly everything went their way.
  16. anyone want four pretty good seats to this game for face value ($65 ea)?
  17. this is so much like our 2004-05 combined into one
  18. https://theathletic.com/20071/2016/09/22/sheehan-cubs-fans-guide-to-the-nl-wild-card/ (way off on the magic number...weird)
  19. wait what
  20. looks like clayton kershaw is acting now [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. i think they say he's polarizing among fans, which he is...i've never seen it painted as they all hate him.
  22. If I recall correctly, the hamstring/groin tear or whatever it was he suffered against Arizona (week 2 ironically) last year was supposed to keep him out 3-4 weeks, and returned after missing just one game. I doubt he plays Sunday night but after reading that, I fully expect him out there against Detroit next week. The "Jay isn't tough" narrative bothers me far more than "he sucks". At least the latter can be debated. The former should be so far out the window at this point. Dude is a tough SOB. Yes, this and the "Bears fans loathe Jay Cutler" narrative drive me nuts. I know there are meatballs out there that don't like Jay, but I would say 90% of Bears fans I know either like him or at worst are 'meh' on him. I'd say 90% is way high
  23.   if a tree falls in a forest
  24. misspelled sit move him to fullback, or something else that begins with F and ends in K with a U somewhere. no idea sit or shut
