Yes, Pace survives. That gives them an easy out on Fox and Pace gets to hire his non-big name coach. A big name coach isn't taking that job anyway, so Pace will take some young guy (can't believe I saw Pat Fitzgerald's name this weekend), and those two together will get 2018 and 2019 to win, and then 2020 will be a fresh start with a whole new GM/HC combo and first round QB. Trubisky would have to look awful for them to move on after this year. Or the QB would have to be Peyton Manning reincarnate. Odds are they trade down from that spot and collect picks to give them WR, DE, OT and DB help, since they will need lots of help at all those spots after next year. But my guess is they will be more like pick 5-8 and we'll have no real feel for Trubisky. They may benefit from a run on QBs early in the draft and could trade down a little bit from there to do the same strategy. Yeah, Trubisky would have to be a Jared Goff like disaster for it to even be a consideration. I'd say the scenario would play out exactly like you say here. Ideally (barring some crazy surprise playoff contention scenario), Glennon plays well enough to bring back maybe a 2, and we have a high enough pick that we can trade back and benefit from the QB richness. Would be tough for those two to coincide to that extent, admittedly.
