  1. so assuming we don't give up 4+ runs this inning, we'll be back in a first place tie in a few minutes, until tonight.
  2. His KBB is beautiful. I want us to buy him. 200 innings. Pumping 97 with his 100th pitch. No thanks, he's not very good. except he has been really damn good this year
  3. my god, just typing "benny and the jules" makes me cringe
  4. a lot of them have multiple songs, most notoriously rizzo and yes, "benny and the jules" somehow makes me long for his old terrible dance song by his wife, "alive"
  5. did pat just say jeff hasn't walked anyone in like a month? what?
  6. man rizzo is seeing the ball well lately huh
  7. watch happ out-grade almora defensively in center
  8. oh and coomer said something to the effect of "if it's high enough, it's gone" about a ball that hit off the horsefeathering video board
  9. JHEY! can someone tell coomer how absolutely stupid it sounds to say the ball was CRUNCHED
  10. his k/bb peripherals look exactly the same as 2015. he's had horrific babip luck at .224. not sure about his batted ball profile but it sure seems like he's been hitting the ball plenty hard when he has. if you're actually at all interested in veering off your intentional meatballdom path (perfectly ok if you aren't), here's a breakdown http://www.cubsinsider.com/2017/05/22/kyle-schwarber-soooooo-unlucky-season/
  11. This is weird what's weird about it? it's just a standard flyer on a guy who used to be good.

  13. This feels like that offseason we signed Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd to go with an already uninspiring group of WRs. Keep signing retreads and hope they form some semblance of a decent group of WRs. I mean it might work out. Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Victor Cruz, Markus Wheaton, Rueben Randle, Cameron Meredith, Josh Bellamy. If by some miracle White stays healthy and develops like a #1, having Wright in the slot, and some combo of Cruz/Wheaton/Randle/Meredith as the #2 and #3 outside WRs could actually be pretty good. at this point i'd trust meredith to possibly resemble a 1 more than i would white.
  14. as umfan said, jersey is well aware of KB's gallivanting and overindulging ways.
  15. the cubs problems being all due to the "failed experiment" of batting schwarber leadoff is all the rage all over chicago sports media today i switched between 670 and 1000 and they were both talking about how they'd drop him/bench him at the same time. I'm convinced those are the only 2 stations your car gets. i deal with the dumb hot take stuff (although WSCR is much better about that these days) for hearing the interviews, live talk, etc. sometimes i just want to listen to people talking instead of music (yeah podcast blah blah blah - they're not live but i do listen to a few). i don't listen to 1000 just about ever anymore though.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] also it's pretty funny how many people make this mistake when "apart" literally means the opposite of what he's intending to say.
  17. :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: never a doubt
  18. they're absolutely getting a game tying bloop single here
  19. I was trying to remember who that was. Was it off Clement? Davis ain't lookin' so hot
