i'm annoyed that we didn't score there even though it really doesn't matter -
it doesn't feel that that team at all does to me. except it was following a 73 win season, not 103 and a world series. lester was up and down a lot early, hendricks was just OK, bullpen blew a few games with jerks like brian schlitter and phil coke, we had complete trash bags starting at least every 5th day like wood, wada, (later haren), etc. and we'd hover around .500 and seemingly were incapable of getting more than 3-4 games over. oh and bryant was complete ass for like a month. got swept by the shitty ass phillies (oh, and no-hit too). lots of extremely frustrating things were happening that year before they took off on that insane august/sept run.

That team just sucked on offense, though. Second half 2015 Jake Arrieta ain't walking through that door. Nor is he needed to. And they'll probably trade for someone better than Dan Haren this time. And they weren't great on offense, but they didn't suck.

Whoa. This means you think they are making the playoffs. With you back on the playoff wagon that leaves me as the lone ninny again. at least your prediction is a little more rational in the sense that the regular season is predictable

this season reminds me of the 2015 team pre-august so much. fortunately we still have an entire extra month to turn it around before then. and we don't have two (basically) 100 win teams in our division. oh and we get to play those division teams a lot too.

Joe Ross is a pretty good pitcher who I have wanted us to target in the past. That said, he's been giving up a lot of dongs this year, despite good peripherals otherwise, kinda like some of our guys.

For as smart as our FO is, it seems like they really are not smart at using the 10-day DL. This is the 4th time now they should've used it off the top of my head. Zobrist, Russell, Heyward and now Bryant. I know Zobrist/Heyward are on it now but they should've gone on sooner. I'm pretty sure they're really horsefeathering smart about everything so there was probably good reasoning for those decisions when they were made. Or maybe some borderline calls for them that they decided to try to go with the aggressive route rather than the safe route on.

i mean, it was with candelario, almora, and baez due up and they walked baez to get to lester sooooooooooo it's probably to be expected
