  3. I think he managed the bullpen beautifully in 2015 especially mixing in guys like Cahill and Richard and giving them useful roles. Not a ton of problem in 2016 except Chapman's WS usage. This year has been a little more head scratching but at the same time a lot of his guys have been inconsistent like Uehara, Grimm, Rondon and now Edwards. i think Maddon rightly or wrongly believes Edwards has the highest ceiling and the wanted to give him a chance to work through his recent issues. I do think this was one time too far though, particularly putting him in the game with little rope to work with. Oh well You must have blocked out the memories of Phil coke and Brian schlitter
  4. You've said some heavy meatballery stuff throughout the season. yeah but it's usually a one-off based in reality. david and lots of other good posters do the same thing. if i start talking about bryant's performance in the clutch or DFAing edwards, feel free to call me out This post implies I'm one of the good posters I think
  5. My rays fan buddy was dead on when he told me the one gripe I'd have with Maddon is bullpen usage

  7. i do know that and it was a key part of my argument against giving up anything of value for a non-elite reliever wait, you're going to use Edwards imploding as justification for NOT upgrading the bullpen at the deadline? when did i say that? i'm saying trading for someone who isn't aroldis chapman or andrew miller-like isn't going to do much in the way of bringing you certainty either way what if we had traded for someone else's CJ Justin Wilson could easily give us a few terrible high leverage innings since he isn't that tier of reliever either. at the time of that argument, CJ could've been seen as just as good/better i don't really care that we got him bc we didn't give up anything worth a damn and he is good(and we also got avila so whatever) mind you (not to mention the implosion of CJ now means wilson is probably our second best reliever). he's just not great enough to be above the whole " ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ relievers" thing
  8. I especially thought you'd know that bullpen are fickle. i do know that and it was a key part of my argument against giving up anything of value for a non-elite reliever
  9. let the record show that edwards started sucking ass as soon as i got in that argument about the bullpen being good
  10. he definitely did his best to throw it wildly into LF on that one fielders choice
