  1. it is fair to wonder that, but i still don't expect this watson thing to last. he's made a lot of dangerous throws that he's gotten lucky with, hasn't faced very good pass defenses, and, at least in the kc game, piled up numbers in garbage time. /watson rant i'm fully ready to look like an idiot on this but i'm not giving up yet.
  2. Yeah I was definitely not expecting the defensive turn around to be this fast, hopefully they don't go Angelo and wait till these guys are all past their prime to get an offense. I wouldn't call 3 years in, fast. Especially when they haven't improved the offense at all in that time. 3 drafts and 3 free agent seasons is plenty of time to make a unit above average. eh...2 actual seasons (and it all coming together for the defense in the 3rd) doesn't seem like long for a complete overhaul when the key pieces are almost all new and young. but yes the state of the offense leaves a lot to be desired. like thril says, though, we have the RBs, an at least competent line and maybe the QB. it might be as simple as add some WRs and go next year.
  3. I very much doubt this because I very much doubt either of those pitchers, especially Jake, is in our plans for next year, much less do I think we're basing coaching staff decisions on their wishes.
  4. the eddie jackson interception reminds me so much of mike brown when TO got alligator arms in 2001

  6. Hmmm, they WANT us to sign B. Harper lol? Are you horsefeathering kidding me? Do they understand how gigantic a leap in production that would be going from J. Heyward-to-B. HARPER? How dangerous would our lineup be with B. Harper batting #3!?! That's hilarious. Do they also want us to sign M. Machado and J. Donaldson too LMAO? Of course they do, then the Cubs will have no money while only fielding five 5+ win position players to go along with several 2-4 win players. How can you win like that? our farm system will never be elite again
  7. i can't imagine anyone on the astros is a big enough horsefeathers to be anything but happy for their bench coach getting a managerial job. are you saying you think that the players would be all like TRADER!!!! over their bench coach getting a managing gig?

  10. When is his "The Return" documentary coming out? if he had one, it probably wouldn't take til 8 months after doctors cleared him to come out.

  12. especially since he wasn't our 1b coach any more giving rizzo bear hugs

  14. Felix Leiter maybe?
  15. [tweet]https://twitter.com/AndyCarlsonShow/status/922447394578554880[/tweet] i can't remember the number, but i heard it has only happened maybe a little over a handful of times in the 2000s.
  16. The Cohen stuff has kinda been trending that way. Wright still looks like our best WR, low bar and all that that is... Loggains was saying some stuff about how, from his history in Tennessee with him, Wright is best in limited snaps. Seems really dumb when he also obviously is our best WR. I hope that all of this makes more sense in a few weeks and this was their way of easing him in (which I'm not sure is best for him, but it might be) and they open it up more as they go and as they need to.
  17. What does he say about his pitching philosophy (Hickey) and how he handles pitchers? I also wouldn't mind interviewing M. Maddux and J. Farrell and seeing which one would be the best fit. The job does seem to be Hickey's if he wants it though. Conversation didn't get that deep but yesterday I did post a rays blog post that talked about that a bit.
  18. Even when they came they seemed to come in very predictable situations (3rd down), but my perception may obviously be off on that.
  19. So the Vegas team is 6-1, including 4-1 at home? I badly want this to be a "road teams come to Vegas and lose their horsefeathers" thing bc that would be an amusing trend
  20. I guess maybe there's *some* (?) value in having him in game and getting his feet wet like this until he gets a better feel and faces not so great defenses but it is really terrible to watch and debatable at best as to whether there's any benefit to this.
  21. LET HIM THROW Saints haven't looked bad this year. Gonna be a tough game, especially on the road. Win and you're .500 going into the bye, which is pretty good. Lose it and you're 3-5, which is probably better than most expected but not good.
  22. what a dumb horsefeathers
  23. I 100% knew the Tebow gameplan was coming when they got the 14-0 lead. So predictable.
  24. my friend who is a pretty knowledgeable rays fan is not pleased with hickey leaving
