  2. oh no, yu have caught wind of it if this barstool horsefeathers ruined this i swear [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. oh look i would never expect this from a barstool follower what a shock i can't believe it [tweet] [/tweet]
  4. The inclusion of Russell isn't about trading him, but about trading him for Machado. Think he's a bad person, or his injuries are going to rob his potential, or the bat will never come around? Fine. But trading him for one year of another shortstop(especially one who gets much of their value from defense and has 52 career MLB games at SS) doesn't make much sense to me. Use other stuff to get Machado and then use Russell to get the pitcher those other guys couldn't bring. If you can't get Machado without Russell, then just move on, you still have Baez if you're desperate to trade Russell. I'd love to know how our FO values Addy, Javy, Schwarber, Happ, and Almora versus how other teams do. I'd literally have them in the order I just listed them, from a value standpoint. But, there's not a single possibility of orders that'd actually surprise me either. Plus, service time starts becoming a factor in value at this stage too, now that some of these guys only have 4 years of control at this point. any order with almora ahead of addy, schwarber, or javy would shock the hell out of me.
  5. What off the field stuff? He’s a serial cheater who doesn’t know how to use a prophylactic? The thing where his wife's friend strongly implied an accusation of physical abuse in a since-deleted instagram comment.
  6. There's no chance in hell the Cubs offered that all for one year of Manny Machado...one of those guys, sure (and I'm damn near sure Russell wasn't at all).
  7. that's a decent list to be on http://i64.tinypic.com/27xjsde.jpg (obvious disclaimer about arbitrary categories/cutoffs)
  8. lol and now they're blowing out orlando
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] a team that projections (inherently conservative) think is bad enough to project them at 75 wins is really horsefeathering bad. and they have a behemoth and another very good team in their division. they're going to be 100 win fodder for the dodgers like the reds and cardinals are for us.
  10. damn this was a perfect gif for this lmao i could not believe i was smashing the heart for a bombadil post but he nailed it yyyyyyyyyup
  11. damn this was a perfect gif for this lmao
  12. If you read the piece you'll see why. That title really doesn't mesh with the article Thing is the caption right below the title says as much
  13. i wish i knew whether this was a bit or you just literally never have any idea what the hell is going on
  14. Bryant Rizzo Contreras Schwarber
  15. lmao well that explains that. thanks.
  16. something something does he rock his iroc z? Followup fun fact: a roommate of mine grew up with two of his closest friends being the bassist for The Bravery and the bassist for Good Charlotte. That's kind of impressively terrible. weren't you the guy who knew the girl with the weird john mayer story, or am i thinking of another poster?
  17. anyone have any idea why the hell tom kelly has a restaurant in new lenox, IL? i guess that's slightly less weird than CJ wilson having mazda dealers in countryside and orland park
  18. forgetting about them could be considered An Honest Mistake something something does he rock his iroc z?
  19. it could be that they don't have money for him because they are earmarking the money for Darvish. Either way, the fact that the Astros are in on Yu should alleviate anyone that still had concerns about his WS performance. the fact that having those concerns would be really stupid for a front office to do should also alleviate that. if we still had a shitty gm, i'd be concerned about said GM having concerns about his WS performance, though.
  20. hopefully this is more "DOESN'T HAVE MONEY for him" than "doesn't have money FOR HIM" [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. how have we not yet made mention of how evan longoria changed the future of the cubs forever
  22. I'm going to make one exception to this haha i'd love to see get stuck with jason heyward's contract
  23. i'm starting to get behind the idea of defilippo
