  1. If I were a Bears fan I think Landry would be the guy I’d want the most in FA i'd like an outside guy too

  7. Is Jimi a Niko autocorrect? Because none of those other guys is really driving these wins. I mean at best they are ensuring really bad players don't see the floor, but I'm not entirely convinced some of those bad players wouldn't look better on this current iteration of the team. Niko is kind of the big question though. You either don't think he factors into future plans at all and want to try and salvage the tank, or figure this was kind of the potential that was always there and he either fits in a future rotation or at worst is more attractive as a trade piece for a star than as a trade piece in a dump. yeah, i'm really conflicted with the niko thing. he's not THIS (23 PER) good but it would be really annoying if this is a true breakout and we're shipping him off.
  8. they definitely weren't.
  9. yuuuup. i remember when this was also a thing that people said about the cubs. until it wasn't. circumstances change. is it the cold weather thing or the poor management thing that makes people believe this? or something else? i think they talk themselves into those arguments after having had their huge dreams crushed a few times. the lebron tease was terrible.
  10. https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2017/12/26/16818012/john-defilippo-eagles-quarterback-head-coaching-search-philadelphia-bears-giants-browns-carson-wentz Much more at the link.
  11. just curious but why do you keep ignoring lavine, especially with how high you seemed to have been on him? just his contract status?
  12. I really do not accept "chicago won't ever attract the elite free agent because they have failed to and come in 2nd like 3 times" as a real premise. lebron could've easily happened and probably would've had rose not been a moron and had the dominos all fallen for miami the way they needed to. kobe almost happened and even tried to force his way here. mcgrady could've easily happened (a decision i think he has since expressed regret about). melo could've easily happened (thank god it didn't). they won't until they do. all you can do is put an attractive roster together and throw a max offer out. hitting on a top draft pick as a superstar isn't some slam dunk either.
  13. That's obviously hugely dependent on what it'll take to make two likely very costly trades. I'd much rather just sign Darvish. Two trades? Whoops. I got mixed up with the mention of the other names. I don't really like Cobb at all as his AAV creeps toward Darvish's. If he's as cheap as we were talking before, then whatever.
  14. In some cases, I think we may be looking at multiples.... Trade for Machado, sign Reed, plus a cheap starter to compete with Monty Trade for Archer, sign Reed, replenish what we lost in trade Trade for Yelich, sign Cobb, replace traded parts Sign Cobb and Reed Sign Yu and be done I think these are kind of our general options. Yelich/Cobb seems like the best option of those IMO. Love Machado. Love Archer. But Yelich and Cobb under control for 4 years + potential to go after Harper >>> That's obviously hugely dependent on what it'll take to make two likely very costly trades. I'd much rather just sign Darvish.
  15. If they're winning on the back of the development of Dunn, Markkanen and maybe Lavine later, I'm fine with it. Those guys are very young and if they're playing that well + free agency, it prob amounts to more of a chance of finding a star and building a real contender than having a bare cupboard + a top 3 pick. A bare cupboard with a top 3 pick, absolute best case (the pick panning out into a stud player), makes you the Pelicans of the past few years. EDIT - All of that said, I'd MUCH rather be in the lottery than be a fringe playoff team, obviously.
  16. oh btw Kris Dunn: 20 points, 12 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks, 9-17.
  17. beat the bucks with giannis lol
  18. Mic'd up Mitch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXgx6wRUT1U
  19. I sort of still think they sign Cobb once his price and years lowers back down to what it should have been originally. nah, we're getting yu
  20. ohhhh i forgot that they employ bernie lincicome again for some reason
  21. was thinking him (probably) or maybe sully
  22. This is pretty much where I am. Unless someone overwhelms them with an offer for one of the young guys, I’m comfortable going into the season with that roster. haha I would hope so, considering that would put us with the highest projected WAR in MLB (at least, according to Steamer) at least barring any big additions to the other upper echelon teams
  23. imagine being the old fuddy duddys that actually have opinions like this [tweet] [/tweet]
