  1. the cubs should reply with my signature
  2. Some of the remaining FA are talking about holding their own spring training together. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk Kinda hard to say something like this when the Cubs and Astros have won the last two World Series doing exactly this. He didn't say it's not an effective strategy. He said it's bad for the game. And I don't really disagree. A large portion of the teams are complete trash and aren't making any effort to win.
  3. yes. It's kind of embarrassing. I don't usually go with this media member hates my favorite team take, but he sure seems to dislike the Cubs for some reason. He doesn't dislike the Cubs. He just likes to write articles and Tweets that say nothing about nothing.
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=ALL&teamid=23 I was looking at the non-Yelich/non-Cain portions of their lineup and yeeeeesh. I guess I didn't really realize it was that bad, and none of the projections seem to stand out as being egregiously pessimistic.
  5. The Brewers currently project to finish 17 games behind the Cubs (it probably gets a win or two better with more realistic playing time estimates). That's not Cubs-tainted glasses. That's an unbiased (Steamer, in this case, I think?) projection system. They are not talking about either team like fans of a team projected to be 17 games worse than the Cubs. People think they are adding to an 86 win team, but they're really not.
  6. if you're getting $60ish+M worth of value over the first 3 years pretty comfortably, there's not a lot he has to do over those last two seasons for the contract to be value neutral.
  7. FG is doing odd things with Yelich/Braun/Santana playing time now that Cain is in the picture, but/so they're still at 75 wins http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=ALL&teamid=23
  8. yeah if the public/media sentiment is any indication of where their over/under ends up, I love the under.
  9. For me it won't end up being annoying, considering that means we actually signed Darvish. HighHeat said the Yelich trade had a 95% chance of happening yesterday, the same day he said Darvish to the Cubs was done. So Darvish is obviously 100% a Cub. It's like math or something.
  10. see? [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. a little annoyed that the media narrative will probably paint the darvish signing as a response to the brewers getting to like a 76 win projection or something
  12. the brewers were not nearly better than the cubs last year. the cubs are also obviously adding a pitcher. What? They were a young team that had a 5.5 game lead on them at one point. They fell apart at the end of the year. They've added a ton so far, what if they sign Darvish? then they might give the cardinals a run for 2nd place
  13. ahahahahahahaha jam fan gonna jam fan
  14. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?p=1077763#p1077763 I reiterate just start there and continue on down
  15. Brewer insider said this was 95% happening yesterday
  16. a part and apart would not mean opposite things if English made any sense, but between this and that lebron instagram post, it's driving me nuts how often people horsefeathers that up.
  17. I can't see there being much value in any baseball futures, especially Cubs related ones (bc the amount of people who bet on them). Regular season win totals and such, maybe...anything relying on the playoffs, no thanks. That's not to say there's NEVER going to be value in them (i.e. some team who has an easy road to the playoffs having their WS or pennant odds undervalued, esp if it's a lower tier playoff team)
  18. maybe there is something to this HOF moratorium idea? [tweet] [/tweet]
  19. [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. it's obviously a stupid suggestion for several reasons, but he has them at the same total amount, so really who the hell would care. the same money over more years is a good idea at any price (assuming the contract isn’t so long the commissioner vetoes it for circumventing the luxury tax). right
  21. You saying this makes me REALLY care about the Cubs signing Darvish. Then you will love the writer's suggestion that we sign him to 8 years to lower the AAV. it's obviously a stupid suggestion for several reasons, but he has them at the same total amount, so really who the hell would care.
  22. i mean we've got dudes named after starlin castro on here, and a guy with a jen-ho tseng avatar so (holy crap bill hall hit 35 horsefeathering home runs one year) ***D.A.V.I.D FAULTY MEMORY CARD*** i was talking about starlin on you, you egomaniac
  23. It was just me. Well actually I didn’t think they were the better team, I was just convinced at some point that the Cubs were going to sleep walk through the entire season. This has become a nightmare thread. People relaying what VB fans are saying when I do my best to avoid VB fans in general. There were a quite a few more posters than you saying that the Brewers were going to win the division. Actually you were probably more angry at the Cubs than actually becoming a Brewers truther. he was definitely a brewers truther.
  24. Shocking, given username. i mean we've got dudes named after starlin castro on here, and a guy with a jen-ho tseng avatar so (holy crap bill hall hit 35 horsefeathering home runs one year)
  25. So t hat one Bill hAll Star guy seems to be their least delusional poster
