  1. Just depends how much weight you put into raw ERA...it was his lowest in his career, but there's obv a host of other factors that make a few other of his seasons more impressive. I did say arguably mostly because I didn’t feel like looking up his peripherals. what site are you still looking up stats on that doesn't have them and why aren't you using fangraphs for that
  2. i feel like i've been hearing about that big star for 2-3 years now. i love the tacos at the other location.
  3. This is some...interesting math. Just depends how much weight you put into raw ERA...it was his lowest in his career, but there's obv a host of other factors that make a few other of his seasons more impressive.
  4. double tank win*
  5. isn't freeman retiring because football is scrambling his brains? even if he decides he wants to play, i'm not sure i feel great about that.
  6. i think everyone is overstating the whole "doesnt want to be here" thing he just wants more horsefeathering money, rightfully so
  7. it's funny how tree and imb are so awesome that none of us cares when they wanna go full meatball once in a while
  8. Well, that’s not great. Yeah I would feel really bad for Archer. Finally gets traded and it's to another horsefeathers team.
  9. i'm pretty sure when that news broke it was also said that this was entirely expected and that teams had already been accounting for it for a long time.
  10. I'm getting on a plane for the next four hours so obviously this will go down while I'm in the air. The Butler trade happened the same way.
  11. Bears Twitter blogosphere rumor is that the Bears are working to get Fuller extended. Also https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/john-defilippo-bears-interview-was-fantastic-future-bright-with-matt-nagy/amp/

  15. i have no idea why i thought he'd already gotten a cup of coffee
  16. Same. When did you go there? I was born in 1974 and attended Devonshire and OOJHS in the 80's - moved in '89 after one year at Niles North. I remember playing in Skokie Indians for Little League Baseball and am sure that do did too. Curtis House was great, and I doubt that he had a racist bone in his body ... albeit, that's my vision of him are admittedly through the eyes of a child. I remember the Indian-themed songs, as well. These memories were better those I had of Steve Garvey in '84 ... Gotcha. Yeah, I wasn't there until about a decade later.
  17. That's exactly who it was. Curtis House - in Skokie, is that correct? Small world ... I went to Devonshire/Old Orchard Junior High. Same. When did you go there?
  18. i'm not really worried about this team's ability to win the division, and i'm as aware as anybody that the playoffs are a crapshoot, but the main reason i want this to happen is so that teams have to face jon lester in game 4.
  19. Was it greeny? He interviewed me when I was playing high school football and I've always thought he was creepy. haha...no though. the guy had to quit and fell off the map completely. i can't even remember if it was to the point of being something criminal or if it was just a scandal of some kind. edit - i guess i must've been remembering it wrong...but he did go to jail. and then apparently released?! http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2008-06-04/news/0806030753_1_cltv-internet-sting-solicitation
  20. who was that local sports anchor/reporter who was on CLTV and got caught up in some creepy sex scandal of some kind in the mid-late 90s?

  22. really? i'd pick milwaukee and it's not all that close The last time the Cards won fewer than 80 games was 2007. It’s the only time in the last 18 years they’ve won less than 80. And they still won 78 games that year. In that same 18 year span, the Brewers won less than 80 games 10 times. The second worst win total St Louis had in the last 18 years is 83. The Brewers have won more than 83 games 3 times in those 18 years (‘08, ‘11, ‘17). The Brewers being crap is commonplace. But just once I’d like to see the Cards fall on their faces and just be terrible. ohhh nevermind i thought you meant pick as in predict. my bad. yeah, i'd pick that too.
  23. really? i'd pick milwaukee and it's not all that close
  24. i mean i think it's hilarious if the brewers think theo's biggest fear is darvish signing with milwaukee. it means they are just about as delusional about their chances as their internet fan base is.
  25. defense? wtf? all i'm saying it is i would rather read his information (he is proven to be informed to some degree) than read nothing. the complaining is way stranger. just ignore it if you don't care about what he hears.
