  2. No Dempsey or Onyewu on the roster for Mexico. Twellman is the only new addition.
  3. Can someone say I told you so again when Floyd goes 2 for 3 with a double? Even in this worst case scenario, Floyd's not a scrub.
  4. How much of that is residual wariness left over from Baker's tenure? Probably a fair amount. I'm willing to let it play out and see what happens. But I've prepared myself to be disappointed. Lou doesn't exactly inspire warm and cuddly feelings when it comes to veteran favoritism either.
  5. St. Louis doesn't have a very good system, but that has to be a pretty awful list to not have at least Rasmus on it, if not Garcia too.
  6. He hasn't hit LHP well since 2003 though. I guess he'd be better than putting Jones out there against LHP, but I'm a fan of the more feasible, more productive, and more likely Jones/Theriot platoon with DeRosa moving to RF against LHP.
  7. What happened to this page.
  8. After a 9 day layoff, Mizzou goes to Boulder to play the Fighting Robys. It would be a nice time for their first conference win.
  9. i judge hendry by wins. and in that regard, he's bad. and if you judge him by win per dollar, he's the worst. Fair enough. really? so dusty was a good manager in '03 and '04, a below average one in '05 and, finally, a bad one in '06? Jim Hendry makes the moves. These moves should be evaluated separately from the wins/losses that result. Whether or not he is a good GM is based on his decision-making BEFORE the fact, not after. So why judge what happens after? Who's responsible for the Manager? Everything aside from the size of the payroll is under the umbrella of the GM. That certainly hasn't been an issue, so therefore all the failures of the team are his responsibility.
  10. They're going to be the scrap-scrap-scrappiest team since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny 'effing Kaye.
  11. Bring back the Navy Blues.
  12. I wasn't going to be the one to say it, but my thinking was that if some calls had been switched(namely your 1 and 2), the Pats would've won and many people would've cried foul about the Pats being gifted the AFC again.
  13. If they're idiots, then what does it say about the people who care about what they think?
  14. Ray Mickens? I think I last heard that guy's name in 1997.
  15. Wow, Caldwell got manhandled on that 3rd down throw.
  16. The same reason that they blew the whistle the next play when Brady took a knee without anyone touching him. College rules, eh? :?: You're allowed to down yourself by going down demonstrably.
  17. The same reason that they blew the whistle the next play when Brady took a knee without anyone touching him.
  18. Wow, that was a good call. I thought he hooked him but it really was just incidental contact with the legs.
  19. Yeah, that's 300 at-bats. I'll take the career numbers over those any day of the week to compare. There's something to be said for trends, especially when they span 3 seasons and are for a not-insignificant sample. Besides, even looking at his career numbers he's got a .076 IsoD against LH(.061 v. RH) and a .215 IsoP against LH(.203), so the career similarity is more of a BABIP thing.
  20. I don't know about the radio bit, the Colts or Pats should be favored and rightfully so. Well, the local stuff will be over the top. Understandably so. This is a huge moment for Chicago. Doesn't mean I have to like it :D ETA: I avoided sports radio for 2 weeks after the White Sox won the World Series. Where would you rather be, Chicago now with the Bears, or Missouri with the Cardinals in October (stupid college) Ack, no reminders plz
  21. He pointed at the chasing Bears, front-flipped into the endzone, then danced(directed at no one in particular).
