  1. The only change I would make to the scoring would be to allow partial points. Especially with backs and recievers only getting points every 20 yards, there's a lot in between that could make a difference. Otherwise I'm good with having a couple weeks to size things up before declaring our three keepers.
  2. Wow! I wish you'd been around when we needed people to say how Neifi was great and needed to stay on this team. You'd have helped Hendry lead us to the playoffs last season. Your post has explained to me why we should keep playing worse than average players over a better than average and almost free player. Where in my post did I say anything about wanting Neifi to play, ever? Or are you just using baseless conjecture? If so, I guess it would be fair to assume that if you were running the team we would have never made the Aramis or Lee trades, because giving up Bobby Hill and Choi would be asking too much. We would currently be rockin a lineup with Jason Dubois, Bobby Hill, Hee Seop Choi and Corey Patterson in order to pay Brian Giles and JD Drew superstar contracts. Right on man, that lineup with Hollandsworth, Neifi, Karros, and Womack with Pierre signed to a superstar contract would've crushed that lineup.
  3. Hopefully Dominguez gets shown up in humiliating fashion tomorrow. Mizzou needs this one, especially since they'll host the Super if they win. Jamieson and the Lousiville coach got in a shouting match after the game ended too. Tomorrow could get ugly. I work 7 am to 3 pm but I'm telling my supervisor I have a "dentist appointment" and I'm going to the game. I have a bad feeling about it though. Why exactly was Louisville's coach so mad? I missed both taunting incidents, but looked up to see Jamieson giving it to an umpire, then two umpires giving it to Louisville's coach. I don't know. Standing up for his scumbag player I guess. He's lucky both of them didn't get tossed. I can't believe the NCAA officials, who constantly express "sportsmanship," didnt send Dominguez to the showers. What toolboxes, hopefully we're pissed and come out swinging the bats. I imagine it's Holst pitching for us tomorrow? Gibson should be ready to go several innings too.

  5. In Soriano's case, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary. 3 different teams(4 if you include the Cubs) at all stages of his career, he's significantly better when he's hitting leadoff.

  7. That's what Pie, EPatt, and Soto are for. Z and Murton for Kemp and Billingsley Pie/Kemp and Gallagher for Teixeira EDIT: Soriano, EPatt/DeRosa, Lee, Tex, ARam, Pie, Soto, Theriot Hill, Lilly, Marquis, Marshall, Billingsley Are you assuming Texiera can play OF? yep, Tex in LF, Soriano in RF

  9. Trading Murton isn't necessarily bad. Trading Murton for a bullpen arm is definitely bad.
  10. Why in the world would you even consider calling that a strike? What a horrendous call.
  11. Indeed it is..... don't get too used to it Did you hear the interview with Hendry? He said Pie was here to stay.
  12. i was thinking that, but i think the mets would have to include more than that. Milledge and Pelfrey, get as many LHP in the rotation as you can.
  13. I love D. Lee...but that would not be easy unless you were in a room full of Cubs homers. There are worse arguments you could make. He was right there in 2005, 2006 was lost to injury, and this year he's right near the top in OPS(Jones and Bonds are in front of him with less PT, Holliday and Helton in front with Coors) in addition to unbelievable defense.
  14. I think something like that would piss Z off. I know it shouldn't, especially if he had a chance at making a World Series run and then resigning with us, but I could see that bruising his ego. If you talk to him beforehand, he could understand. Show him how the same thing happened to Ponson. Well, you could do that, and maybe that would help him understand. But I belive you'd also be getting close to illegal collusion there. I'm not saying you draw up a contract and wait until the offseason for him to sign it. But if you talk to him and say that even though we're trading you, we still would like to bring you back if you go to free agency, then you have a great shot considering all that Carlos has said about wanting to stay in Chicago.
  15. Fat Froeming got him suspended. c'mon, be serious. Kicking dirt on an umpire got him suspended He was suspended because they claimed he actually kicked the umpire.
  16. no yes...he jogged all the way to 1st base and slid for no reason into third. if he hustled out of the box it would've been very very interesting at home plate with a cutoff. He could have been very easily out. I have no problem with him playing it safe with a triple with 0 out. Yeah, the only reason he was so easily safe at 3B is because Jones decided just to bomb the ball back to the infield.
  17. Broken bat bloop into RF. Francoeur had to come a long way to get to the ball, and Felix beat his throw to 2B.
  18. He'll probably slam his agent into a locker as well. What a fitting comeuppance for Boras that would be. Beaten to an inch of his life by his own maniacal client. I thought Z wasn't with Boras anymore? Well, maybe Krazy Z doesn't remember he got rid of Boras and will beat him within an inch of his life anyway. You're right, he's now with Barry Praver. Coincidentally, Praver is also Sidney Ponson's agent.

  20. Making fun of Jones is a favorite pastime of mine, don't you try to take it away from me.
