  2. Although it doesn't make what allegedly happened any more acceptable, but didn't it come out that his wife drained his bank account while they were going through a divorce, and that she had some previous request for protection that was denied?
  3. Probably pointing at DeRosa's position while saying that DeRosa saw it.
  4. Clay Hensley is the centerpiece of a trade for Adam Dunn? Hilarious.
  5. I'm pretty sure Barrett was going to the Cubs all along in that trade, just that the A's had something that Montreal wanted and the Cubs had something the A's wanted, so it was just a roundabout way to get Barrett, IIRC Right, Barrett was an Athletic for a matter of hours.
  6. Mizzou getting crushed in the Regional Championship, 12-5 in like the 4th. Unbelievable.
  7. Actually, that outfield would probably be above average defensively. Pie is well above average in center, Soriano would be at least average in right, and Teixeira wouldn't be bad at all in LF, especially with Pie's speed helping with any range limitations.
  8. The best way to do it would probably do a poll of all the top picks(including Price, Porcello, guys who may get taken in front of us). Then do another poll with the top guy from the previous poll excluded, then repeat that to emulate our Top 3 preference.
  9. No love for Holliman? I figured someone else will, I like Atkins and Hernandez better.
  10. Juan Pierre was 3 for 5 with an actual extra base hit that day. He's inescapable in how he ruins the Cubs.
  11. I could deal with that, although maybe up it to 550, or make a provision that you can keep at least 2 players even if they add up to more than 500? That's a good point. I just threw out a random number. Yeah, I think a higher number works a little better, because then the better teams can keep a small number of their best players, and the lesser teams can spread it out to more players so they have fewer holes to fill in the draft(and they have high picks to try to get an impact type guy). I'd be perfectly content playing it straight with 3 keepers though.

  13. Buster Olney couldn't find Wrigley Field on a map, considering he cuts them all off when they go west of Pennsylvania. He has no idea what's going on.
  14. That's what Pie, EPatt, and Soto are for. Z and Murton for Kemp and Billingsley Pie/Kemp and Gallagher for Teixeira EDIT: Soriano, EPatt/DeRosa, Lee, Tex, ARam, Pie, Soto, Theriot Hill, Lilly, Marquis, Marshall, Billingsley Would Texas really give up Teixeira for Gallagher and Kemp or Pie? If I were them, I don't think I would. I like Pie, Kemp, and Gallagher, but they'd be given up a lot of proven production for potential. And if Teix can play OF without killing himself, he's even more valuable. I think just about any trade of Teixeira is going to be production for potential. The Rangers are done this year, and with the knowledge that Tex isn't going to sign there in all likelihood(plus being a Boras client), I don't think he's going to command an uber-return. And even then, Kemp/Pie is a top 25 overall prospect at an organizational position of need, plus a very good starting pitching prospect.

  16. Oh I know, I was just adding this year's info, not trying to correct you.
  17. Go here to get your final roster from last year, and post in this thread so it's easy to reference who has who. http://archive.fantasysports.yahoo.com/archive/nfl/2006/152187/rosters The link may take you to my team but you get it. Cut for Cap Space QB David Carr David Garrard Donovan McNabb Vince Young RB Joseph Addai Maurice Jones-Drew Willie Parker Julius Jones WR Terrell Owens TJ Houshmandzadeh Andre Johnson Laveranues Coles TE Alge Crumpler K Jeff Wilkins DEF Jacksonville
  18. I wouldn't be surprised. First of all, Colletti is stupid. Remember what he gave up to get Baez early in the year last year, what he gave up to get Lugo at the deadline, and what he was rumored to be willing to give Hendry for Maddux. Kemp isn't with the big league club, and Pierre and Ethier are blocking 2/3rds of the OF for the forseeable future. Murton gives them a RH bat off the bench for their all LH outfield, and a possible replacement for LuGo. Billingsley is a good arm, but he's being used in middle relief, and is behind Broxton and Saito in the bullpen pecking order. They're adding Zambrano so they obviously take that trade-off rotation wise. Obviously an objective evaluation shows that trade isn't worth it, but considering the Dodger situation and Colletti's incompetence, I would call it far from impossible or implausible.
